When I originally bought my PUP, (06 Niagara), I had the brake controller installed in my 00 Dodge Durango, thinking I could switch it to the 97 Dodge Ram 1500 if so desired (carrying dogs, kids - thought it best to tow with the Durango).  And did a year or more with the Durango, but found I liked the wider body of the truck for towing - no  mirror issues.  So had a separate brake controller installed in that and it's a joy to tow the Niagara.  But, it's kinda nice to have the option of towing with either - most likely weather determining!  the Durango is 4wd, so doesn't get as good gas mileage even when not towing!

:-() Hi we tow with a 87 ford f250 xlt with the 460 v8, long on power, it towes our starcraft 2406 easily and our old fishin boat, but alas its a little thirsty for fuel. It will get 10-11 mpg empty or loaded under almost any conditions, very reliable old rig i love it. thanks joe

We have the Silverado "Vortex-Max" 1500.  It's a 6.0L with 10.5k capacity.  We started with this:

Now we have this:

It was hard to tell if the pop-up was even there most of the time.  The TT is obviously there, and is a more difficult job on the driver.  But, the EASE of setup makes the whole thing VERY worthwhile!!   :)
