I have "gutted" my Coleman Brandywine (1974) and am preparing to put in new systems.  Most will be 12 volt for dry camping.  I know I could probably buy one for what this is going to cost but I enjoy doing these things myself.  I'm going for the  modern, Fleetwood Evolution look.  They are as follows:

1-Water system (stainless storage, filter, and foot pump pressure).  May add a pressure tank for running water.

2-Water heater (small/propane).

2.1-outdoor shower

3-New, light, stove (may reuse existing).

4-Refurbished sink, new faucet, new plumbing/gray water, refurbished countertops and doors.

5-LED lighting throughout.

6-Furnace (really would like to find something vented).

7-All new canvas (the old stuff was falling off).

8-New fabric for the cushions, new drapes, etc.

9-new linolium floor.

10-Battery

11-solar charger?

12-converter (isn't this just another name for a transformer?-confused).

13-Don't need an inverter as I will have a separate 120v system for when hooked up.

14-Refrigeraor (maybe).  Maybe just and icebox.

15-Awning

16-elastomeric coating on the roof and new paint on sides.

Any specific recommendation brands/models to get (or stay away from), would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

You should check out some recent posts by sundawg. She re-did her entire roof of an old Dutchmen pop-up. Pictures are there, descriptions of some of the work, and posts from others with hints. For lights and other add on stuff, don't forget to check out JCWhitney.com They have a lot of camper stuff cheap.
Good Luck on the rebuild!

Sounds like you are going to have a lot of work ahead of you. I am sure it will be fun though. Good luck with your project.

Hi,
Sounds like a blast, nothing better and more satisfying then doing it yourself.

Here's a few links to start with . In this one scroll down to the second set of forums and youu'll see a "Trailer Tech" section and two down from there is a "camping gear" forum...both loaded with all kinds of goodies
http://forum.ih8mud.com/

Then as far as construction there is this place..they'll have any answer you need for electric, gear, materials and so on.  These guys are awesome!!

Sounds like a fun project!!!

Keep us up to date on the progress...

I enjoy reading and watching progress on here from others.

I put in my "therapy" when I gutted my 95 Rio Grande and put back the way I wanted it...
