Hello:
I have a 2005 Palomino Mustang 6148 and we love it. We try and use it at least once a month. When our daughter was born we dicided to purchase the pop up verses renewing our Buccaneer season tickets and have never regreted it. However the door of our Pop up is in two sections, when the roof is raised the top section swings down and connects to the bottom half. But on the inside at the top it has a thin metal plate and on each side two plastic clamps that hold it in place. My problem is when I raise the roof to max capacity this top metal plate continues to almost want to bend. Its just a matter of time before one of these plastic clamps breaks. A friend of mine has the same issue with his Coleman. He drilled two screws at the top portion pver the door area from the outside and now when he sits up he puts the door in place (he has a one piece door but still has the same issue) then puts a washer and wing nut over the screws he installed. It appears to have solved the problem but I was wondering if anyone has any other ideas. I was also thinking of attaching a 1/4" piece of aluminum to the metal plate but would still have the same issue with the plastic clamps. Are there any other type of more durable clamps than these plastic ones. Please advise.
Thanks

You might check Lowes or Home Depot for alternative clips.  Some folks who have had this issue have found that additional PUP leveling is required for the door to have proper fit/function.

Best wishes.

I also have the 2 piece door with the metal plate and clamps. You do have to be sure the unit is close to level for upper section to meet lower section correctly. You may be raising the roof to high and binding the plate, which you dont want to pull it out of the side roof.My unit has a guide wire for cracking the unit to stop from over-raising,it really helps..you should be able to find clips at dealer..
