Setting up my new 2 me PUP for the 2nd time before camping season starts.   The question that I have is how much play should the roof/sides have side to side?    I am assuming it is normal to have a little bit.

Supposed to have "some". You can really feel it on a breezy day. And a major cause as to why the door does not open and close like it ought to. In the case of my Starcraft it's more important side to side that it be level, not to say for and aft are not important, too. Tying off the awning can way too tight sometimes can cause a problem, too ... pulls the roof in one direction too far.

All is normal, there is a lot resting on those 4 posts.

Enjoy your trailer.

quite a bit, I tighten (lengthen) the shepard pole after I've been setup awhile. Once the tenting relaxes, this reduces some of the play!

Wait till you camp during some wind/storm. The roofs hold up well.
