A/C question

I have a new to me A/C unit and I'm going to install it. I was told that it is practically new, but I was just wondering how can I wire this up and test it before I install it on the roof and waste my time. Any help you guys can give is always needed.

Put the top unit on a couple of saw horses and then connect the inner controller, wire in a pig tail at the junction box plug er in and see if it works, cold air out the bottom warm/hot out the back from the condenser.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have successfully installed my A/C. Its working perfectly( thank god ). Thanks to everyone for all the help with this and every other issue I've come across so far. I'm sure there will be more.
