I am looking to buy a set of the 6" globe lights.   My concern is that they will be bug attractors since they are very big.  Anyone use these and what are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

In my experience, it doesn't matter how big the sight source, any white light will attract bugs.  Those yellow "bug lights" emit a wave length of light that is not easily seen by most flying insects and, therefore, are widely sold and used around entrys and other outdoor gathering places that bugs aren't wanted.  Normal incandesant lights, as well as, florescent light will attract moths and other flying (and crawling) critters for miles around.

If you can get the yellow bug lights as your light source, you shouldn't have as many bugs invading your space, otherwise, expect lots of company.

I hope this helped.  I usually just set my light out away from us, but close enough that we can see what we're doing.  Normally at night, we just enjoy the light from the campfire and let it go at that.
