Blown Fuse to Battery...

Ok, we've taken our new to us pup on 3 trips this year.  This trip was the first time we had a site that had a water hook up.  So, we hook up the water hose and when I went under the seat to flip on the elec water heater I noticed a tiny amount of water on the floor (about a teaspoon) so I wiped it up and it never came back all weekend.  Then when we were packing up the pup, I opened the valve to the water heater to drain the water out and noticed a little water leaked out around the hose clamp - didn't seem like a big deal at all.  Then, when we unplugged from shore power, we realized we had nothing.  No power from the battery and after a little searching we found the fuse had blown.  Now, one may have nothing to do with the other, but since they were both firsts I wasn't sure.  My concern is we are going dry camping this weekend and will be depending on the battery.  I've armed myself with 10 replacement fuses, but if this keeps happening, what should we be looking for?  Or what might we have done wrong?  We're new the pup world and we've been seriously winging it... This site has been invaulable!
Thanks for you help!

This is our 5th year camping with our pup (dry camping) and first time out had no power (battery).  Generator worked fine, however when diconnected - no power from battery.  Same thing, replaced a blown fuse from the battery connector.  Not sure why it was blown, never blew one before.  Replaced it and have had no problems since.

Electric water heater? Please explain as the Coachman 1280 did not come with that option in 2000 as far as I know.
