Has anyone ever been to Knoebel Amusement park in PA and stayed in the campground there?  I have 3 kids (7,4,4) and was looking for something a little different from our usual state campground trips.  I've heard the amusement park is very "young children" friendly and inexpensive.  The campground is right next to the amusement park. (Within walking distance)  And I was wondering if it was very noisy throughout the entire campground.  Any info/opinions would be greatly appreciated!

We have been to Knoebels many times and enjoy the amusement park thoroughly. We have not camped at the campground because our children are now all grown and we've heard that the "kid" traffic inside the campground is HUGE and the campground officials do little-to-nothing to control it. It is an extremely large campground and does have a water park for campers' use only that looks really cool, no pun intended. There are several really nice campgrounds that are close to Knoebels that we've used instead. As the amusement park parking is free, as is admission, we haven't felt any inconvenience.
I know this isn't really all that helpful but I hope you enjoy your visit however you decide.

Actually, it's very helpful.  Thank you for replying.  I'll check out some of the other campgrounds as well.  Although, I would be one of the people contributing to the kid commotion so we may not be all that affected! : )

When I called there a few years back, weekends are almost inpossible to book, but no reservations are needed mid-week (Mon-Thursday), they told me just to come on up during the week, there was plenty of camping, just have never made it.  I would perfer Lake Glory that is owned by KNoebles, it is farther from the park.

I live in the area and have not camped at the campground, but I have visited friends there.  I would not camp there.  I know the manager of Lake Glory and would camp there instead of the campground at Knoebels, if you want to be in the area.  The sites at Knoebels are small and many are in full sun.  It is loud and people are cutting through sites.  Not my type of camping.  The campground is right at the park so that is a plus if you want to spend a lot of time in the park.  The park is great.  Free admission, free parking, free shuttles, free entertainment, you can take your own food and drinks (there are many pavilions that you can use if they are not reserved), pets are allowed, many Kiddy rides, prices for food and beverages are reasonable, most of the park is shaded, there are benches all through the park to sit on, and I am sure I have missed some things.  RB Winter SP is about an hour away from the park, if you prefer SP camping.:)

We would most likely be staying mid-week as my husband is a teacher, but I think I'll check out Lake Glory instead anyway.  I like a little separation from the site next door and shade!
