Hi all.....long time reader, first time poster.  We have a ntu 1999 Jayco Eagle 12FSO that has a Thetford Cassette Potty.  When we try to "flush" it, we can't get any pressure built up to get the "blue stuff" in the bowl.  Any ideas?

ForestCreature

What model cassette do you have?

Ours has the electric flush.
The "blue" stuff goes into the bottom holding tank and stays there, it does not circulate into the flush tank. There should be a fill tank for the flush , that is for fresh water. If ours flush fails it's either a dead battery of a blown fuse.

Those porti-potties are far too complicated for me ...!

This is about all I can Handle ~

I have a manual flush Thetford for my popup.  You put the chemical in the holding tank with some water and the clean flush water in the top.  When you push the flush thingy on top it forces the waste into the holding tank.  I havn't been camping in awhile due to health problems, so I am writing this from memory.

I think it is a C4 cassette.  It isn't the electic flush.  We have water and chemicals in all the right places, but can't get much to go into the bowl when we "flush".

We had the same issue a couple yrs ago and we replaced the bellow. A simple replacement. Has worked out well for us. Check out the parts list.

They helped us out when we needed it.

Me, too, fly.  I have two Luggable Loos.  One on my sailboat, the other for the Pup.  No electricity, no valves, no bellows.

Thanx Maromeo.  We are just pouring water in from a water bottle which works pretty well, but I would rather it work the right way.  And using the water bottle doesn't get the chemicals in the holding tank which can lead to some pretty foul smells.  :eyecrazy:

If memory serves me the chemicals should "already" be in the holding tank....and you flush with clear water.

Mrs. Oreo...
You are correct, I do put chemicals in the holding tank, but also put some in with the "flushing" water, so until I get it working I will just continue with the water bottle method.

If you put the chemicals in the fresh water it should/will break down the rubber bellows in the pump. It should only be put in the holding tank.

Same thing I was told.

Correct, the tank chemical is designed to break down waste, be it human or plastic type. Fresh water only in the holding tank, just like home.

Adding blue chemical to the fresh water reservoir will damage the rubber parts of the toilet.:)

Thanks for all your help everyone.  This forum has been so helpful.  This is our first season with our ntu popup.  When we bought it from the previous owner, he said to just use a water bottle and squirt water into the toilet bowl.  I am going to try to order a new bellow and give that a try and NOT put chemicals in with the fresh water.  ;)
