Hi:
Wondering if anyone uses emergency space blankets on canopy over beds to increase insulating efficency when running the AC?  Heard it works better than most when trying to cool during the day.  Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Don't have A/C, but did make my own bunk end covers out of "Sportmans Blankets."  The popup gizmos are sure a nice product though, I just couldn't afford them at the time.  Silver side up definately keeps the heat out of the bunks somewhat.

It is important to seal up all of the little holes, down low, in the PU.

Cold air falls, hot air rises. If you have space under or around your door, on the sides of the bed-slides etc.....cold air will simply flow out like water. As this cold air exits, it is replaced by hot, outside air through other cracks that are up higher in the PU.

AC works best in a sealed environment, where the cold air is recirculated through the AC, over and over again. If the cold air escapes, only hot air is picked up by the intake on your roof mounted AC unit (hot air rises). This cuts the efficiency of the AC unit by about 60%.

Contrary to popular belief, canvas is not the reason that a PU is hard to cool. Canvas will contain the cooled air just fine, as long as all of the cracks & crevices are sealed up.

When we ran the AC in our PU, I put duct tape on the door frame to PU body gap. That gap is huge. I put W/S on the bottom of the door. I also stuff rags & towels in the bed slide gaps. It makes a HUGE difference.

all weather space brand blankets :D shinny side up summer and winter.

Just use on one end as a test! You'll use on both ends in short order.
Keeps the roof clean toooo

Reflectix foil double bubble foil in the windows on the sunny side make a big difference also.
