These gizmos dont cover the end of the bunks, only the top of them, correct? We camped over the 4th of July and I bought some of those $3 foil emergency blankets to try this out, the morning sun was beating through both the roof and the end of the bunk, making it an oven inside. I covered both the roof and the end with the blankets and it worked awesome but I saw a gizmo picture and it was only the roof, so I'm wondering... Thanks-Dan

The Gizmos just cover the top. Some of us put some sort of insulation in the bunk-end windows, between the inner flap and the window.

Thats what I thought. I guess I'll have to just stick with the emergency blankets instead. Muchas gracias.

One little problem with using the "space blankets" instead of the "sportsmans blankets/military casualty blankets," which is what PUG's are made with.  Those space blankets are going to rub their silver finish off onto your canvas and vinyl, making black marks that you probably won't be able to remove.

If you don't have, or don't want to spend the $$ on the PUG's, buy the sportsmans blankets online or on ebay and make your own.

Here's how they (and the PUG's) look installed:

And here's a close-up of the blanket:

Heres another shot of the gizmos, along with reflectix in the windows.

Yeah, I should have mentioned, I would be getting the thicker blankets from Cabelas, not using the paper-thin foil anymore. That was just a "trial run" to see if they really made any difference.

Do both sides wear off or just the silver side?

austinado16

It's that silver mylar finish. It rubs off the Reflectix too.

keep the siler side up!
