How does the tongue height of the camper look behind our new van?  I just had the hitch put on and hooked up the camper today. It is kind of in between.  It has a 6" drop in the photo (upside down of course) and if I got to the 4" drop the tongue would be below level. What are your thoughs. There is nothing in the van or in the camper.

Nice looking van.........:-()

You said the magic words, "There is nothing in the van or in the camper".

What it looks like now means little. You may want to take a measurement of the frame and make sure that the front is level or slightly below level with the rear of the trailer "FULLY LOADED". If you do it now, it will be too low after you load it.

I am pretty sure that if you were to drive it the way it is now, it would sway at highway speeds. You want to be sure that the tongue weight of the trailer is at least 10% of the weight of the trailer fully loaded.

Some have reported here, the necessity of AirLift air bags on the rear of the mini-vans or WDH (if your trailer and TV can handle it).

Man those campers with the pull-outs look huge, especially behind an MV.

Looks like you're pretty good, but as Wayne says, load it up and see what it looks like.  I think the MV's are soft in the rear and it may sag big-time with people and gear in the back, and then 200lbs of tonque weight hung off the bumper.

I think it looks pretty good.  Once you load up the van and the cargo box you will probably be good to go.  If the van sags in the rear here are a few tips I use to help my Ody.  I use a weight distribution hitch.  I also take out the middle row seats and use this area for cargo.  The kids sit in the rear seat.  Doing this helps balance the load (keeping the weight towards the middle of van).  Put something light in that space behind the rear seat.  Something else I was surprised about is how much of a difference it made on tongue weight by emptying the hot water heater (which is up in the front of my popup).  I probably lost about 50 lbs by doing that.
