I just went to check to see if we could make reservations at Pt Mugu.

According to the person on the ReserveAmerica phone (live person), we will be able to make reservations at all CA SP CGs on Oct 1.

HOWEVER.......When I go to the website and click on Pt Mugu, I got this message:

------------------------------------------------------------------

Arrivals for April will be On-sale (Apr 1st through 30th)

This on-sale is limited to 23 parks

Sign-in before 8:00AM PDT for your best on-sale experience (10 minutes before is fine) On-sale FAQs
-----------------------------------------------------------------

When I click on "23 Parks" (highlighted red) I get this:
http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=737

It has the following list of 23 parks:

Guess all we can do is wait a couple more days and see if RA opens up for the spring season for reservations.
I too had been looking for Morro Bay but not available yet.  I will check it out on the first to see if Arny has decided what we get to keep or close.

I tried to make reservations at Pt Mugu this morning. They are still not allowing any reservations at Pt Mugu for the future. How sad......:(

---------------------------

This morning, we were able to make reservations @ Carpentirea SB, Morro Bay and Doheny. It appears that the list above is accurate and no other parks are available for reservations at this time.

I will tell you that the sticker shock of making reservations @ the above parks was pretty depressing. I spent nearly $500 on 3 reservations that would have been half that 3 months ago........IMHO, this will have an impact on many families budgets or (worse yet) preclude many people from being able to afford camping at all. If these prices remain permanent, I think there will be some very good deals on used RVs coming up before next summer and it may kill the RV industry in CA altogether. This is a very sad thing that our State gvm't is doing.
