We will miss being there with you, but I know you will understand. Have a marvelous time, talk about us around the campfire, and raise a toast to the good times that are still ahead.

Maybe we can drunk dial each other on New Year's Eve.

We could not go to this one ourselves know the Griff clan will be missed for sure but we'll raise our glass up to you on New Years Eve and all the SCCampers ......  Take care of yourself and rest working all those hours are not good for the body or soul......

This is starting to get scary. The January rallies are bleeding campers at an alarming rate.:yikes:

Lori, you Dave and Griff will be sorely missed at both this rally and the SC rally. I've been on a schedule like that in the past. It's terrible. And you are so right about the toll it takes on you, your family and just life in general. We'll be looking forward to seeing you when we see you.

That's a given.

That's even more of a given. Make sure at least one of us has your cell phone number. Here's hoping your New Year arrives with you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the world again.

Merry Christmas to you, Dave and Griffin from us and Whitney.:XMas

OK it looks like there are 8A, 3C or 4 families going to FF.
Just checking to see how much rice to make.
Are there any special rituals or rights or other things that we need to plan for here?
Have lots of firewood but it is very big chunks of pine.  Just had a load delivered the other day.  We will need some smaller pieces to get some coals going.  Are we restricted to those fire rings that are at FF?  I have a wash tub but it is not off of the ground.  Wonder if I brought bricks to lift it up if that would be good?

Only 2 more wake ups!

just a reminder that
potluck dinner is on Friday night (new years day) and the potluck breakfast well be on Saturday morning.

FYI at the market they sell Mexican rice in a pouch type bag and all you have to do is add water & butter and you are good to go. I think two bags would be enough for the group. Yes bring your tub and I will bring some bricks also.
We will be getting there tomorrow around 5PM

I just picked up a pallet of cut-offs at Ganahl Lumber over the weekend and will be bringing a good amount of this for getting the fires going. Develop a good bed of coals and then the logs will start easier. Got this idea from Dieter; $15 for a pallet stacked about 3-4 feet high. You have to have a way to get it home and most of the wood is in 4ft lengths so you'll probably need to cut it down. Check your local lumber yard (not HD or Lowes) and maybe they have similar practice?

As the only rig at a full hookup site, we'll have the electricity for lights, crockpots, etc. We'll also have an EZ-up with walls and a propane heater, so I'm offering our site as the group gathering location for purposes of campfires and such. As for the potluck, the quesadillas are best right off the griddle, which would be a bit too heavy to relocate. If y'all are okay with this plan?

Sure. No guaratees on what will be left once we call you though. Remember what I said about tamales??

You are more than welcome to use the outside shower. I might even reconnect the hot water line to that faucet. Or not.

On Wednesday as we were packing up to head out to FF the mist continued to come down so we left the bikes behind and braved the wet weather heading to FF and not enjoying the idea of setting up in the rain. But once we got to Santa Barbara the clouds opened and the skies cleared and the rest of the weekend was just down right beautiful :D We were kicking our butts the rest of the weekend wishing we had our bikes to ride through wine country...but then again, we drove through, missed a few turns, took a risk or two and joined a wine club...so all in all, what a great time!  We  strolled through Solvang and of course we had to have some danish pastries Yum Yum. AJ Spurs turned out great and we had a great Mexican themed Potluck.
We want to thank everyone that joined us and those of you that drunk dialed us (you know who you are ;) ) at FF.

A thank you to Rhonda and Alan, your help with Sean was wonderful....
A special call out to Brain & Marcy for sharing your hook-up site with the rest of us. Its always nice to enjoy a small rally, so that we get to know our fellow sccampers on a more "personal" level.

Hoagie

Yep. Got drizzled on all day Wednesday right up until we left Orange. Does this meet the criteria for "it rains every SCCamper rally?"

The weekend was truly a great time. Our hookup site was surrounded by a bunch of groups, all of which were dark and inside by 10pm. We were probably the only ones outside to shout out a welcome to the New Year. :-():-():-():-()

The wine tasting was great. Thanks Brad and Mary for acting as tour guides. We brought home some great bottles that we will enjoy for some time to come. Might even bring a few to future rallies.

Brad's got it right that a smaller group let's you get to know your fellow campers a bit better. I guess that's a good thing? Why, of course it is!!:#:#  We had a great time playing bocce ball, speed Scrabble, Sharpshooters, and just hanging around and getting to know each other.

Thanks Brad & Mary for putting this one together. And thanks Rhonda & Alan, John and Leann, as well as our wagonmasters for making this a great weekend. See you all at Lake Casitas.
