Tire pressure monitoring system

I just came across these on eBay. I have NO idea if they are any good or not, so take it for what it's worth. For $20, I figured that I couldn't go too far wrong.

These do not read out a constant tire pressure. They only warn you when the pressure gets low. I have no real desire to "Monitor" my tire pressure anyway. I just want to know if I have a sudden pressure loss on the trailer. You could drive quite a long distance without even knowing that you had a blow-out. This should warn me if I have low pressure or a blow-out and that's all I want.

Works on cars that have a normal tire pressure of 35-50psi. Sounds alarm at 28 psi.

I'll let you know how they work when I get them.

Wayne,

Thanks for sharing. I went ahead and purchase it and thus we can compare notes down the road.

I received mine yesterday and installed them. They work as advertised. I installed them with 50# in the tires and the light stayed green. I removed one of them and put it on my trailer dolly with 25# of air in it. The light stayed red and the alarm sounded.

The only down side that I can see is, they are a pain to take off and put back on just to check the air pressure in the tires.

The next time that I get tires, I will just drill another hole in each wheel and install a second (steel) valve stem......

Wayne,

Thanks for the up date.  Since you and I and the only ones that have posted anything on this thread, others may think it is not worthwhile.

I use pressure gages (the ones that show green, yellow red) on the stems of my on my Jeep tires. While I would quickly know that I had a TV flat, as you said one could drive for a long time before knowing there was a problem with the trailer tires.

My mom tried one of the highly-rated systems from Camping World on her Tiffin and it's been nothing but trouble some.  Communications issues, replaced receiver due to issues, etc., etc.  She gave up after a valiant fight and just monitors the wheels now.
