It would seem there is a problem with the registration process here on ArveeClub. I'm not sure yet what the issue is but if your having problems getting registered or have not received the confirmation email, please email me at webmaster@popuptimes.com, make sure you include your username and the registered email address and I will do what I can to get you activated.

Thanks for posting this.

Some people that we met last weekend (while camping) were trying to register. He found it so difficult that I think he gave up. I'll let him know that there's this issue.

That's not good, honestly though, I think I'm ready to move to the other software I use. I've never been fond of this one. I'm not sure what that will mean for history. I guess it might be a good topic of conversation in the near future.

I would say the biggest loss since the change to this program has been not being able to search the old posts.  I know that is the main reason I used this site when I bought the PUP and I am sure that is true for most.  Not being able to search for help has led me to use PUX more when I am looking for an answer.

Now the problem with the registration leads me to wonder how many new people have missed out on registering because the software wasn't working.

Hopfully if you switch again, you will be able to keep the old posts, and be able to search them again.

Good luck

I must agree. The loss of the old posts is what has killed the activity on this website IMHO......

It's like losing history. There was a ton of valuable info in there that it took years to create and the frustration of the loss has dampened the enthusiasm toward building some of the more technical posts.

And I do think the online Virtual campout Reunion is a good idea.  Or at the very least a MASS email to members to try to get people back on this board....its been WAY too quiet lately....

I'm not really sure what can be done to improve the search. I know there is a wealth of information here, I would hate to loose it. From my perspective, connecting arveeclub to the PUX database makes sense there would be a single registration that would work across, arveeclub, pux, hyx, rvittch and trukx. Much of the forum data from PUX could be shared with arveeclub so you would get to most of the same content whether your on PUX or Arveeclub, but we could add a private forum for arveeclub users that is not shared with PUX for those that want to hang out with thier arveeclub pals. I could try running this software as an archive so the content would still be here, just non postable.

Any thoughts on that. I'm open to suggesttions, but I would also prefer things be somewhat simple as things between PUX and all the sister sites, the online store and the magazine really keep me busy now. It's a full time job for 5 people, too bad I really wish I had the funds to hire people to help.

For the registration issue, I made a change to the email settings and tested the registration process. It took me a minute to figure out how to approve the newley registered, but once I did my newly created user was able to access the posting area. I guess the way things are set up here is moderators need to approve all new members, so that would need to be watched daily. Hopefully this change will fix the registration issues.

FWIW, I was one of the people having registration/email issues.

When I originally had the problem, one of the things I tried was pretending I forgot my account password to see if the system would email me the password reset email.  At the time, even that email would not go thru.

I just tried it again, and the email went thru with no problem.

Thanks,

Jim

at he very least hopefully we have the email issue resolved... That would be step in the right direction.

Yes true but it would be nice to access to the older post. Especially in the MR Fix It. A lot of helpfull information was in there that I refered to quite often.
