Well, the reservations are in for my Northbound trek for this spring. I've got another week here at Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort, then 2 weeks at TTO, followed by 2 weeks at Southern Palms, all 3 of those parks are local to just west of Orlando. From there, it's 3 days at Three Flags (TT3F) near the Villages in Florida, then a one nighter in TT The Oaks at Point South in Yemasee SC, one night at Camp Pedro at Pedro's South of the Border at the SC/NC state line, and then a couple weeks rest stop in TT Williamsburg Va. Following it'll be 2 nights at Lums Pond State Park in northern Delaware, followed by 4 nights at TT Roundout Valley in Accord NY, then on to my friends truck shop in Oxford Mass. From there I'm not sure yet where I'm going as I don't have a job lined up in Maine yet. Oddly enough, the park I worked at the last 3 years has passed on me this year for younger, less experienced and lower cost personnel.

I've got several applications out there around Maine, mostly in the same Old Orchard Beach area, so still waiting to see where it all ends up. I'll add in an update when I know where I'm going. They are looking for help at Lake George Escape in upstate NY as well, but I want to go back to Maine, don't care for the idea of getting caught up NY's crazy tax laws. I know that Maine give me 100% of with held taxes back because I'm over 62.

A quick update, while I haven't got the "official" nod, it would seem I'm going to be working for Sun Outdoors Saco/OOB this summer, but instead of Maintenance, I'll be working as park Ranger. This was something I actually applied for, as by the time I get up there I'll be 70 years old, and feeling the arthritis in my fingers (and other joints) it's time for me to transition to something a little "easier" as my days of shoveling rocks, raking leaves, spreading mulch and fixing water lines and sewer clogs has pretty much run it's course.

The last time I helped my son shovel a trailer load of rocks was when I decided that was the LAST TIME I was going to shovel rocks!

Sounds like a good trip planned.  Good luck with the ranger job!

Well, I got the official nod today, I start late April whenever I get there, which looks to be between the 20th & 25th. I also called a contractor friend of mine up there that works for both the old park & new park, he's going to use his Skid Steer to load my shed onto his trailer, and deliver it to the new campground for me when I'm ready for it.

I'm being told this park is pretty mild, not too many "Annual" campers, most of them are transients. The manager told me they haven't got a history of problems up there, and that my biggest thing will be to ensure there are no "raging" campfires after 10-11pm, and of course the occasional drunks getting too loud. Anything that would constitute Roundy behavior would be to attempt to deescalate or call the police and let them handle it.

The biggest reason they want me there, is they have no after hours Maintenance, and with my background he seems to think that will be the most useful part of what I bring to the table. Got the official "Offer sheet" today, did the docu-sign and sent it on it's way!

The nighttime make sure they're quiet and tucked in bed guy it sounds like. Sounds easy if you're a night person.
I'm the one who would be calling you one minute after quiet hour!

I'm all for keeping them quiet after hours, one of the things I didn't like about the other park, certain things were not enforced. I'm not much of a night person really, but my hours are 8 to midnight so I won't be out too lake, I don't get to bed most nights until 11:30 anyway.
