 Local news...again

Story read that the recent increase of approx 13 cents a gallon on gas is almost enough for an investigation for price gouging. It said there was no reason for the price of gas to rise that much within the last week. Our price here jumped to $1.59 a gallon almost overnight.

ShirleyTAlmost enough ????  The price here (Canada) goes up the moment crude prices  go up, but when the crude prices go down, we are told that it takes months for the price decrease to take effect at the pump. Then how come it doesn t take months for the prices to go up in the pumps when crude prices go up ?

It is nothing but price gouging by the oil companies and nobody is doing anything about it !!! I am very very unhappy the way the gas prices keep going up for no reason. Some people are getting rich at our expense ! I smell another financial fiasco like Enron, or A&A something like that. The practices employed by the gas companies are unethical !

Canadian oil companies wants us to pay 1 C$ per liter ! That is roughly 2.5 usd per US gallon . When gas is around 1.59 or 1.69 in US; how come we have to pay that much ???? Right now we are paying aroun 2 usd per US gallon, that is unacceptable [>:][>:][>:]

birolI have friends in Canada and I have never understood the gas prices there that they pay. Funny that you should say " Almost enough ????"  Because that is exactly what I thought when I read the story. I know gas prices are always cheaper in Oklahoma City than they are here, usually by around 5 cents. The reason is always said to be because of delivery costs. So birol maybe the price is so high in Canada because they deliver from Texas or something, who knows... another unsolved mystery to me.

ShirleyTIn my area (Sunnyvale, Ca) the prices are around $1.79 up to $1.90 for reg. unleaded.

ShirleyTGas prices are out of control. The big oil companys are going to sell us the last gallon of gas at the hightest profit they can get. And when all the gas is gone .They will suddenly discover some altenative fuel. And i may be wrong about this but isn t the oil they get from alaska shipped to Japan. And the gas we use is imported from the middle east. Our bus system runs there buses on natural gas. They have diesel engines that run on a fuel made from soybeans. Buy where we live is acouple of natural gas storage tanks. They look like big accordens. When they are full they expand up. ,And as the gas is used they go back down. All summer long thease tanks sat there and looked almost empty. The gas co. didn t fill them up in the summer time when naturasl gas prices are normally cheaper. So now that winter comes alone they go to the state and ask for a rate hike because natureal gas prices have gone up. Well we all now they are going up in the winter time. They should have been buying it in the summertime when it was cheaper. And i love the line gasoline prices go up in the winter time because the refineries are making more fuel oil then gas. Now i am not the smartest person walking the planet but #2 diesel and gasoline are two differant types of fuel. When you refine  the oil out of that one barrel you get a certain amout of kerasine. #1 fuel. Desiel fuel. or home heating oil .#2. and soforth down the line. This has always made me wonder thats all. I work in a power plant. And it just amazes me some of the stuff companys try to pull on us because we don t know any better. Well i think i have goten myself into to much trobule here . Just blowing of a little steam. [:o]

ShirleyTI hate them oil companies, they are cutting into the little money I make. I drive around 2 hours trying to make a few bucks, and now because of the cost of gas, I am not sure if I am making any money any more  [:@][:@][:@][:@]
