KellyCanyon de Chelly is in Arizona which last time we were there is not on Daylight savings time.  It is also in an Indian reservation which might despite what the rest of Arizona does. In other words I do not really know but I would check. We loved Chaco Canyon.

Kellythanks, Opie, i knew i d read somewhere that some place didn t observe daylight savings.

a friend of mine went to Canyon de Chelly and said she underwent some sort of spiritual transformation...seems best to tag this AZ side trip to the NM trip and plan an AZ/Grand Canyon one at a later date (year??)

 KellyKelly,
Have lots of water on board for everyone! I emailed you the other day but wasn t sure you received it. We are having some major fires again, there is one on the Ft. Apache Indian Reservation, East of highway 60. So you may see some smoke when you are driving up there. It is still not contained but it appears they are getting a handle on it. You can check out the status at www.wmonline.com  it is the Kinishba fire.
We were having record heat here. We hit 117 on Wed. We are so looking forward to getting out of the heat.
I forgot when you are leaving. We are heading out on July 31, right after DH gets off work. We are going to drive up to Show Low and spend the night there and continue onto Durango the next day. I have been trying to finalize all the Reunion plans this week at Gull Lake. So far we have everything but the food. My brother has offered to purchase the food in St. Paul if we just give him a list. It is great to have little brothers (he s 42).
Hope you and your family enjoy your vacation. I wish we could have had a chance to meet. If you ever get back this way please let me know.
 Take care.
 Mary Romeo
