 Not bad.

I read the messages before the board became a pay board and was shocked !

The pain was too much to see [:(]

I hope we will move forward from now on, a positive look will definitely help.

 Just my 0.02 cents

birol

birolOk, I am replying to my own thread here. It is now 510 members. trial ones ? or same household ? I dunno.

Glad it is going up though ......

Gamecock Camper

birolI m glad it is a growing board also.  I don t really care if the numbers are all exactly right, but glad that the membership numbers are going up.    Personally, I m always glad to see posts from you Birol as you don t seem to want to join in on the us versus them thing.   I m not interested either and have learned a very valuable lesson in not giving a " kneejerk reaction"  to something posted by others.  Hey, when are you getting your camper anyway?   Are you going to get it before that Windstar kills you?

birol

birolDonp t temp the me Gamecock Camper. I am thinking of using LOC and get one, and we would never be able to pay it back [:@][:@][:@]

I am so frusturated at my inability to generate money [&:]

birolBirol, maybe you should try putting a picture of  your " ideal camper"   under your pillow and  dreaming about it.  They say it works for young girls wanting to get married when they put a piece of wedding cake under their pillow.  (Ugh, I have always thought that was a HORRIBLE idea--so messy, and a waste of  cake.)   but the picture wouldnt get frosting in your bed and it MIGHT work.

NEVER give up--you have too great a love of the outdoors to let this stop you.  Keep the faith, baby!  And someday we will be reading about   your adventures in your popup[:)]

Gamecock Camper

birolBirol, I understand what you are saying.  I was in your shoes (unemployed) about 15 years ago and it took me about 8 months to find a suitable job.  Just remember that persistance and sticking to your goals will win out in the end.   I hope that someday you will be able to look back and appreciate the time you are able to spend with your family.  You know how busy the rat race can get once you are back on that wheel.

Jeffrey

 birolBirol, Just do it!
I don t mean buy something you can t pay for.
But, make a reservation, or pick a date to go camping.
And just go no matter what you have at the time.
Find a place to go camping, that great thing about it, is you don t need a PU or hybrid or any of the expensive things. And there should still be a place around to go inexpensively. I don t know Canada, but like a Corp of Eng CG, or State Park.
I even know a few city and county CG s that are still free, around here.

Ask your family who wants to go and go.
Before I bought our tent, I slept in the back of my pickup truck. I just went around the house and collected whatever I thought I might need. Blankets, pillows clothes, some wood to burn. A pot, and a few cans of food and a can of Spam.
A jug of cheap wine, Maybe?

Depending on who want s to go, sleep in your van, or borrow a tent.

Whatever you gotta do, just do it!

birol

birolI am thinking, jsut maybe, if there are any cabins at where you guys are gonna meet in the rally, we will go and rent one for a few days and join you guys.

PA is not that far away from us ......

NightOwl

birolJeffrey, you are SUCH A GENIUS!!

Birol, think very seriously about what Jeffrey said!! I think he gave you GREAT  advice.  There are many really wonderful Canadian Provincial Parks (even some Queen s Lands--ask Toni about this) and maybe you could get a cheap little  tent for someone to sleep in (you and your wife, maybe) and put the kids to sleep in the car on the seats.  Or else, even small  tents for four can be found at very good prices.  You dont have to have sleeping bags if you bring blanket rolls (yes, they are heavy, bulky, awkward, but they work)

Pick a time when the weatherman says it will be warm and dry so you are not fighting the elements.  Bring a skillet and some easy food to fix, build a fire,  sit back in your folding chairs eating smores around the fire and say to each other: "  It will be like this when we get our popup,  only even better!"

And what Jeffrey said made me stop and think of something else. As you wait for this wonderful day of The Job and the Popup to arrive, time is passing by.  These are days which will never come back again FOR ANY OF YOU and your children are growing older as you wait,  and you are all  missing opportunities to camp.  No  matter how primatively or how make-shift your gear is, it wont matter if you can just get a taste of this.

Ab Diver

birolI think Birol can do it for even less money! Tent? Who needs a tent? Just make an igloo!

I think we just found out what to do with all the stuff in RamblingWreck s front yard.[;)]

Ab DiverGrrrrrrrrrrr, I hate snow I hate cold I hate rain.

I am trying to see how we can do some of what Jeffery said. Need to think about that little bit, there is still time to come up with a workable solution.

I might even be able to get a tent free !!! I have tons of Canadian Tire money !

Just checked the prices, they ARE affordable ! I am tent hunting, to h**l with the PU s and their unreachable prices. All I need is a tent, a burner/grill whatever, sleeping bag and 2,000 other stuff :)
I will start another thread on this ......

See there? You have already begun to move ahead to make your camping dream come true.  And while  you are getting  your tent and other gear together, see if you can get Jeffrey to send you one of his Official Patented Name Tags so that you will be able to get off to a proper start.[&:][8D]

Jeffrey  has official Patended Name Tag ? for PUT ? let me know more .....

NightOwl

birolActually, Birol, it is NOT an " official PUT name tag"  but an " Official Jeffrey Name Tag"  and it has many features your ordinary  run-of-the-mill nametag does not have.
