My wife and I are new to PU Camping.  We ve small children in grade school.  1)  Should we buy a type of shelter with netting for the picknick table or to place in close proximity to the awning for the kids to have bug free play space.  How many people have these and think they were good buys?

 2)  wife keeps saying that she want to camping when I m working.  I ve bought a gadget to help in backing up trailer for hook up to ball and hitch.  Would the Bal levelers also help a lone person with small kido s.  What do you think?[:)]

The OvermansA lot of people hav e screenrooms, if you camp in buggy areas, they are worth the price.  As far as camping and set up alone, no sure for you but for us, the wife refuses to pull the popup.  What we always did is both go on a weekend, set up and then I would go home or off to work.  Depending on where we were, I would drive to camp each night or return the next weekend to pick them up.  This way she never had to set up alone or tow.

The OvermansYour DW sounds like me!  I plan on camping more while DH is working.  Usually I do the towing and set up any way.  A BAL leveller would be a big help.  I use the lynx levellers now.  I like them but the time saved with the BAL would be nice.

I don t know how buggy it is where you live, but the screen room would be nice with the kids.  It makes for a place to also keep them contained while you set up the PU if you set up the room first.  Either that or leave them buckled in their car seats.  Our DD ( 99) has a way of being right where you least expect her and DS ( 96) wanders off to the nearest or not so nearest distraction.

tlh doc just got the PaheQue screen room and really likes it.

The OvermansIf you camp in a buggy area, yes a screen room is a good idea.  The Paha Que is very well made and has a life time warranty.  I looked around and the best price I found was right here at PUT.  Here is a link to the store.  You do get a discount if you are a member.

I camp with out DH all the time.  I just purchased a BAL leveler and it should make leveling the PU much easier.  DS can check how off level we are and add Lynx levelers to the low side, but if he wasn t along I would be getting in and out of the vehicle many times to get the trailer level.  The BAL would be perfect with only one adult and the children being so little.
