Ok my good people....we re planning on going out again next weekend and want to stay within a two to three hour drive of the Dallas Ft. Worth area.  I m thinking about Caddo State Park or Fairfield.

If you have a better suggestion or have camped at these areas, could you tell me which lot to ask for and WHY that specific SP is the one you chose?

As always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

PS....how do you secure your camper to keep it from getting stolen at home?  Right now we just have the Jeep parked in front of it.  What do you use?

 JemJen24Hi J?ennifer,

Please see my previous post on this board about where to go next weekend. I ll also drop you an email. Just in case you can t find it. Here s my list of preferences, if I was going camping next weekend, in order of best to least favorite.

 1. Ray Roberts Lake State Park
 2. Lake Mineral Wells State Park
 3. Tyler State Park
 4. Cedar Hill State Park

Considering securing your camper, I m sure that there will be a lot of great suggestions from the fourm members. We keep ours in our garage. Western Campers, where you bought your unit, as well as Wal Mart has some very good trailer locks. I believe one of the best ones is made by Master and goes up into the area where the ball goes.

JemJen24we have a master ball hitch lock, and a heavy chain that goes around a tree and the bumper of the trailer with a heavy duty lock. when we travel we just use the hitch lock, and we have a motion detector alarm if someone enters the trailer.

JemJen24Checking Ray Roberts but they have two maps...

 The Isle du Bois Unit

 and the

 Johnson Branch Unit

Which one should I chose and any suggestions on site numbers?

Bearnkat

 JemJen24Hi Jennifer,

We stayed at the Isle du Bois unit. They have a huge Greenbelt area with lots of trails. We never made it over to the Johnson Branch unit. (I also sent you an email with some additional information.)

If you want to take a drive, on the main highway where the gate is. Take a left out of the park and you ll be in horse country. Wait until you see these estates! It looks just like Kentucky and the horse barnes make most houses look shabby.

As to site numbers, we just took a drive through the park first, then came back and told them what we wanted. The folks at the front gate were super.
