Turn Key

Well, the weather man got me again!  Wanted to head out this morning (Wednesday) for two days at Mineral Wells SP.  Last Saturday, they spoke of rain for Thursday and Friday[: (].   By Monday the rain had moved off until Friday night or maybe not at all[:)]!  They also said highs in the upper 60 s[:D]!  Who could ask for anything more![:D][:D][:D]!  Spent yesterday (Tuesday) morning getting everything ready to leave this morning.
By yesterday (Tuesday) evening everything had changed again!  Cold front coming through Tuesday night making Wednesday s high (if you can call it that!) in the low 40 s[:@]!  Left work this morning at 7am and it s 30 degs outside!  Needless to say, we aren t going to go out to freeze to death!  Only good point of the whole thing is the DW and I get to stay home and watch the fire in the fire place[;)].
DD, SIL and grandbabies are suppose to be at Cleaborne SP all next week.  Going to try again then.  Cross your fingers.

 Turn KeyHi Turn Key,

Greetings from Fort Worth. I know what you mean. We woke up this morning and heard on the news that the chill-factor was 20 degrees. My wife said, " I thought you said it was going to warm up!"  Boy, was I wrong!

 Good ole Texas weather.

Hey, the weather is supposed to be up in the 60 s this weekend.  DW and I are going to run out to Lake Bob Sandlin for the weekend if the forecast holds and then Inks Lake for the NTPUCA campout next weekend.

Turn Key

Turn KeyGee thanks, Trlrboy.  By then, I ll be back at work and you know what I have to put with there (no comments here, please)[;)].

Hope you have a great time and wishing we could be there.

Ment to add that not going turned out to be a good thing.  I had noticed a very slow coolant loss on the truck a couple of months ago.  Wasn t much, just a pint or so every 3-4 weeks but I couldn t figure out where it was going.  Since we weren t going camping, I turned the truck over to my mechanic this morning.  Turned out I had a small leak in one of the head gaskets.  About $240 to fix it but better to find it that way then have it give out completly half way between here and no where!  Timing was also good as I want to do a flush and coolant change.  Will get the stuff tonight and do that and an oil change tomorow night.  Keeps me busy[;)].

Turn KeyWell, life gets worse some times.  If you read my last post responding to Trlrboy, you know I had to put my TV in the shop for some work.  Walked over to get it about an hour ago.  When I got out of the truck I smelled gas real strong in the garage.  Couldn t find a problem until we looked under the truck.  Found a puddle of gasoline!  Obviously, something is not tight but I have no idea what.  Worse yet, being as it s 2:00am (Yes, that s my life and I like it that way.) there is nothing I can get done about it until morning.  Had a bunch of stuff I wanted to get done that hinged on a night time run to Wally World and a 6:00 am run to Lowe s.  Now none of it will get done.  Shucks!  I m bored to tears and the DW is cranky (Her words, not mine!) because she wanted to go to Wal-Mart and spend money!  Bummer!!![:@]

 Turn KeyTrylboy...

The other NTPUCA member (Bob), his daughter, and Willard and I (plus Pharaoh) are going to Purtis Creek this weekend.  I" m actually going out by myself and Willard will join me Sat. nite.

Can t believe I m driving that rig on my own! eeeeekkk.  [:D]

Trlrboy

Turn KeyTurnKey:  Time for a new truck?  I ll give you $300 for that leaking one you have.  Cash.  In 20 s.  Whaddya say?  C mon you know I like that truck.  Sell it to me.

JemJen24:  Be sure to ask Bob about the bunk end covers.  They will make a world of difference in the summer.

DW and I wanted to get out to Bob Sandlin because she s never been there and we haven t been out camping " just us"  for a few months.  I m driving out there tonight after work to get a site and hang out and picking her up after she gets off work tomorrow.  Supposed to be in the 70 s this weekend so it should be a great camping weekend.  I m bringing my camera so I ll post a bunch of pictures on my webshots site Sunday night.  If you can, take some pictures of Purtis Creek.  We ve never been there.  See you at Inks.

TurnKey:  My offer for your truck is only good through today buddy.

JemJen24

Turn Keywill do, Bob.  I didn t realize he was the one who made those!  Neat!  I ll be talkin  his ear off I m sure. ha!!!

 [:D]

I ll also take some new pics.  Stay tuned and HAVE FUN BOB!!!

Turn Key

Turn KeyTrlrboy: Trucks fixed.  My mechanic forgot to tighten a connection.  He came over to the house yesterday morning and had it fixed in about 2 minutes.  Like I thought, not a big deal.  Just a hassle.

Seriously, we will most likly be getting a new TV by fall and will be selling the S-10.  I ll post the info when we get closer, if anyone is interested.

 Turn KeyHi Jennifer,

Have a super time, you ll do great on your own. Just remember the tips you ve gotten on backing. Also, when I get frustrated about backing, I normally ask on of the more experienced people at the camper ground to do the honors.

I ve got school on Saturday. On Sunday we re going to pull the camper on Sunday to do some maintenance and measuring for shelves. We ll be think about you and the great time you ll be having.
