My DW & I were at the Anaheim Sportsman Show in Anaheim, CA and ran into Griffsmom.[:D] They ve been very busy and she hasn t been able to login to PUT. She said she still has the confirmations for the May So Cal Rally and will get them out shortly.

BTW, Mr Steve, are we going to have the camping section back, as was on the old board? I also like the new board very much.

 oldmooseHi Moose

Good to hear your voice.  I am waiting patiently for the Rally board to come up too.  We have friends from church who have a popup and I invited them to the Vail Lake Rally in May but can t give them any info or let them view it themselves to see if they would be interested.

I have been keeping in touch with Paticia and Dave (Cottonwooders) and we also met up with Scott and Georganne (GSMx2) at Lake Cachuma a week ago.  The cottonwooders are looking into a new TV so maybe they will be able to make it to Temecula after all.

 oldmooseHi fellow southern California rallyers!
Good to see that some of us are still around.   I ve seen never2pooped2pop, gsmx2 and the two of you posting.  Is there anyone else here from the Casitas rally here?  I guess we ll be hearing from Griffsmom soon per oldmoose.

Our family is looking forward to the Vail Lakes rally in May.  Once the rally boards are up, maybe we ll be hearing from the rest of the gang (and anyone else interested in our SoCal rally in May).  My kids were just talking about the Casitas rally tonight...they really had fun camping with such a large crew.  Before our May rally we have family trips planned to Carpinteria and Campland in San Diego.

 See ya soon!

 oldmooseHey you guys!

Well, Old Moose is right--we did run into them at the Anaheim RV show--what a wonderful surprise, altho I m a little red-faced that DH and I were so excited over a fifth wheel!  Life has been hectic at our house the past month and a half, but with the holidays over and health finally returning to Lil  Griffy, it looks like we ve blessedly, thankfully, gratefully turned the corner.  DH got a guitar and an amp from Santa and has become addicted to the guitar and amp forums, so I ve been effectively ousted from the computer.  Thank goodness for my Internet connection at work! [;)]  There is a place in the general section for now where we can still communicate about the round-up and when the forums get straightened out, the thread will be moved to the clubs section.   Thanks moderator1!

Well, I really do have to do a bit more work to do before I leave, but I am working on getting the confirmations out.  Thanks for being so pateint with me.  Hopefully, I ll be able to get some time with the new boards soon and figure all the new stuff out.  So far, it looks pretty cool!  [:D]

oldmooseHi all! Happy New Year! I am here too and glad to be here. Welcome G-whiz. I am glad that you have found your Identity. I was getting a little lonely with our activities board down. I am glad to see most everyone here. I do hope that we havn t lost anyone. I am still excited about Vail lake Rally, but must share with you that I am about to have a life changing event (I am in the process of purchasing a Restaurant and Bar) that may prohibit me from doing much of anything for a while. I will still set Vail Lake as a bench mark to achieve, but admit that it may be dificult. After the Casitas rally, I realized how important this group is to me so I don t want to be out of the loop even if I have to. I have a few weeks before my attentions will focus elsewhere, so I just may go camping again. I hope that this rally gets big. Best to all... Larry

oldmoose

oldmooseLarry, great to hear from you. Good luck with your venture and really hope to see you in May.

oldmooseGood Luck Larry with the restaurant and bar! I hope it s everything you dream it will be. Remember, Sierra Nevada Wheat on tap [;)]. It ll be a cash cow. [8D].

BTW, it looks like we won t be camping on our trip to Palm Desert and San Diego. We ll be hotelling it in Palm Desert and staying at DW s grandmother s  in SD.

But do you (or any SoCals) know the best route from Palm Desert to San Diego? Looking for shortest travel time. Thanks!

lkw

oldmooseBrian, I too am a fan of a good wheat brew too! This place has room for 8 on tap. one of which is Guiness. and the wheat stuff they sell is a Michelob product(Not what I want either). Is Sierra Nevada Wheat, a local micro product, or is it available down here? I am bummed that you are not camping down here! I would have gone out of my way to meet you/camp with you guys!!! For the trip between Palm Desert and San Diego, I think that I would take the 10 FWY W to the 60 w jct and take the 60 to the 215 s to the 15 s to San Diego. I think that a more direct route would take you through the mountains between SanDiego Cty. and the inland valley, but would take you much longer IMHO. My way is quite a bit long too, but is probably what I would do. Maybe someone else will chime in if they have had any experience traveling to SD from the Palm Desert area.Hope this helps.

You know, I have a heck of a time finding it here in Northern California even in bottles. I know the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (which is a great menu partner with the Wheat [:)]) has wide distribution. I ve never run a bar, but suggest you contact your local Pale Ale distributor and ask if it is economically feasible for you to serve the Wheat on draft. That s where I d start. Here s a list of their distributors:

Ah! Sierra Wheat on draft with a slice of lemon. Heaven! [:)][:D]

BTW, thanks for the directions! I had no idea which was the shortest route.
