We did it , We got to go camping this weekend[:)] and guess what! it rained the first day and i didn t care[:D] the whole place was mud! but we had our island, and it was relaxing!  It was great to jump out of the van, turn the key and climb in to a dry camper. the only cranking that was done was to Crank out the slide from inside[:D] hit the lights (battery) sat down to the fast food we picked up on the way in, had lunch, and by then the rain broke for a bit, went outside did the hook ups , turned on the gas, dropped the bed, put the trap across it clamped it down (five mins) put the awning out, (2mins)(no wind) and we were set! we keep clothes and can/dry food in the TT all the time, so only had to bring  a small cooler with milk eggs etc. put the kettle style fire pit together and had our fire pit ready for the night!  happy happy

dee106Every once in a while we say to each other " wonder what it would be like to not have to do all the setup when we get to a place we are staying, but just be able to walk in and relax?"    Hearing your description of setting up in the rain sounded soooo good.  This might be something for us to think about.

dee106That s great!  I m glad to hear it went so smoothly.  So when you get ready to leave is it as simple?

dee106yup!  put everything back in the cabinets or draws, un-make the bed, drop the bed pole (same as a pu) go out side (remove tarp) push up on the platform lock it in, release the locks on the awning it rolls in by itself! lock it in, unhook systems and stabitizers(like the pu) crank in the slide, hook up the van remove the chocks(10mins with two people to complete the above) and go to the dumping station, empty the grey and the black tanks and go! (normally we get a site with sewer so we don t have to go to the dump)

dee106Do most hybrid owners use a tarp over the bed ends? Also, do you need a step ladder to open the bed ends? It seems so high.

dee106

dee106i used them on my pop up and now my hybrid, in the cold weather it keeps the warmth in, and hot weather it keeps the heat out, and if your under a tree it catchs the tree sap etc.. so it keeps your wings cleaner. and it s not as bright in the morning when you want to catch that extra wink or two![8D]

yes i need a step ladder, i m 5 3"  tall, they are made for six footers,

i am going to the Starcraft convention in July and i m bring that up to them when we meet with the engineers at the factory, that they have to build in a side step or a flip down step.
