After reading the latest PUT magazine, someone mentioned finding a snake on the outside of the popup[: (]  Now I ve always wondered with the way the canvas is on some popups...just how easy is it to have something crawl inside??  When we first got our popup I use to sleep with socks on because I was convinced something could get inside and I couldn t stand the thought of being bit/stung on the foot!!!

A friend had a squirrel get in, but they had left the door open luckily it just ran around and didn t cause any real damage.

CamperrooThankfully, the worst we ve ever had was ants, and that was bad enough![: (]

CamperrooWell we opened up one spring to find a drawer full of baby mice in a nest made from dryer sheets that everyone assured us would keep out rodents.
Momma and babies got a new home in the field behind our house and I proceeded to caulk up the holes in the bottom of the PU.
As for having anything come in when we re " home" , just black flies and mosquitoes.

CamperrooLast summer we arrived at a wondeful stream side campsite on a really HOT & Humid Day.  All we could think about was how well we had prepared the weekend before and all we had to do was pop up and go take a dip.

NOT ..... As soon as we flipped the roof locks and took 2 cranks, out of the back came pouring, thousands of....CARPENTER ANTS !!!!!! [:o] Maybe a million, according to the DW.

Apparently, in the intrim week from getting ready, a whole Colony had moved into the back seam, eggs and all.

Needless to say we spent several miserable hours hauling EVERYTHING out of the camper and dispatching each and every critter to their death bead. [:@] DW said NO survivors, period.

No damage was done, thank goodness, since it was a short stay for them.

And I bet we were quite a show for all the other campers around us that had already arrived and were cooling of in the creek.  Free Entertainment as well as amazement to how much will fit in a 10  Pop Up. [8D]

CamperrooWe had ants on one trip and we have had flying insects that made it inside when the door was open.  I hope we don t have anything else.

CamperrooI have two stories for ya!
 1) My DD wanted to have her 14th birthday party be a camping trip with 8 of her friends. Her Birthday is in Feb. a bit cold for camping so we postponed it until spring. We went to a Local County park that had a campground. My DW, DD and myself went early Sat. morning and set the camper up. Afterwards My DW and DD went and rounded up her friends. I had some friends of mine join us to keep my sanity. They of course had the site next to us. They pulled in and I was helping them set up when I looked over at My camper and inside standing on his hind legs eating my fresh box of Krispy Kream Doughnuts was a squirrel, Happy as could be. He had eaten through the galley screen and made a hole large enough to get in. I opened the door and held it open with a bungy cord while I ran around outside the camper trying to scooch him out the door. He ran out the door, but my Krispy Kreamers where history.

 2) Now this one is a critter that made it home with us. The only time it was in the camper was when I put it in there and didn t even know it. We where camping in Luray Va. a fast moving thunderstorm came through the CG fast enough to soak everything, we had towels out from swimming. When we got up Sunday Morning to come home everything was still wet so I told DW just to put everything in hefty bags and we would take care of it when we got home. Since I had to open camper anyway I put all of this in the camper. When we got home she threw all of the towels in the washer as I was working on the outside camper stuff. She came outside after doing the load of towels and told me I needed to come in here and take a look at something. In the bottom of the washer was a little furry something? She asked me what is that? I had no idea but is was black and looked furry, fortunately it was died. After careful removal, to the outdoors we went. It was a " BAT"  apparently it had flown up between a towel that was hanging over a cloths line and we brought the little fellow home.
