 Hi,

I  had posted this in the campfire posts - I think it belonged here instead.  Sorry but new to this and pop-up camping.

We are picking up our camper Saturday and my DH is getting our Windstar ready.  Does anyone know where the blue wire for the electric brake connection is after it leaves under the dash?  We have not been able to locate it s trail.  We just have to hook up the back wires but can t find them![>:]  Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Any other ideas or things we still nedd?  We put on a class III hitch, light hook-up, hopefully the brake hook-up and trans cooler.  Does it seem like we have forgotten something?  Any suggestions or comments would be great for us newbies!!!!!!

 Thank you all!!!

 Donna

spottedwolfI had a 1999 Windstar.  The dealer couldn t find the brake wire and had to run one from the battery.

spottedwolfLike tlhdoc, we also had a Windstar.  We just let a trailer shop do the wiring, it s easier because this things aren t truly tow ready.  It didn t cost that much.  Hope you have the Prodigy controller, because it s the ONLY controller to get.

I ran Airlift 1000s on my Windstar rear springs.  Friction sway control (essential).  Run the rear tires at max pressure (which was 44 psi on my Windstar).

spottedwolfJust an FYI on wiring your Windstar.  The wiring is not quite standard on a windstar to brake controller because the brake line is always hot (Live electric), which requires a relay to be installed.  Our Trailer dealer didn t have the correct wiring harness with relay which prompted a visit to our friendly Uhaul dealer.

Please note, if you wire this puppy yourself wrong, you might cause problems with the vehicle.
