We bought the Husky friction left hand sway bar, and now husband is ready to install.  Question is:  His TV hitch (Class III) has a 2"  reciever with a 4"  drop on the ball hitch.  We want to be sure EXACTLY where to weld on the tab for the small sway bar ball.  Any one have any info on it?  We can follow the info given in the instructions (kinda scanty), but it doesn t give any info @ welding on a drop hitch.[&:]

scpreacherswifeNever actually did one for a Husky but seeing as how all the friction sway bars are just about clones of each other it should be exactly the same as other brands. The little ball goes on the plate at the same base level as the big one.  They re made to fit in relation to the base of the ball as most all towing balls are within a 1/4 in height of each other.
If there s a Reese dealer nearby they make a nifty little plate that bolts under the towing ball and has a mount for sway bar ball.

See above link.  This plate eliminates the need for welding.  We have one and it works great.  I don t know if Husky uses the 1"  ball, but if they do this is all you need.

scpreacherswifeThanks for the good info!  Actually, I already checked on these, and I liked the idea, but husband would rather save the $20-25 (actualy, I think he just wants to play w/ his welder[;)]) and do it himself.  I think his only concern is that they recommend welding the tab @ 1 1/2 inches forward of the 2"  ball, even with the 2"  ball, and w/ the drop there doesn t look like there s much " flat"  space before the the angle starts.[:o]  Any other thoughts or experiences?  THANKS AGAIN!

scpreacherswifeAnother reason for getting the plate. Vesides he can play with the cutting torch if he has to notch put the plate to fit the dropped draw bar.

scpreacherswifeHey Mike, good idea, THAT psychology might work... " honey, you can use the torch ...." !![:D]

scpreacherswifeSpend the $$, save some time, and go camping.

That s what we re doing in about an hour.

 Have a good weekend.

scpreacherswifeI m pretty sure the welded on tab, is even with my 2"  ball on my now  useless  drawbar.  Makes a nice step for my other trailer though.

When I replaced the Windstar with the Tahoe, I sought out the bolt on sway bar plate, just in case I change vehicles again.
