A couple of things I m wondering about:

 1.  Recently I pulled my Coleman Utah out onto the driveway and popped up to check out a couple of things.  During a break, as I was sending up a burnt offering, I noticed that the roof on the starboard (door side) of the camper seemed to be just a tad higher than the port side.  Measuring each corner at the lifter arms I discovered that the space on the right rear corner is 1/2 inch greater than the other three corner.  Don t see any real problem, just wondering if this is anything I should be concerned about?

 2.  Also noticed that for the first time it is all I can do pull open the stepper door when the top is down and latched.  Have never noticed this before.  Perhaps I have the latches screwed down too tight?  Also, when closing the door it is all I can do to turn the handle to latch the door closed.  Never noticed this before.  Again, anything I should be concerned about, other than having to struggle to get the door latched shut?

Have only had the PU about six months so I m not all that experienced with these things and thought some of you might offer some insight.

 Thanks!

WayfarerCan t help you with the roof, but I might be able to help with the stepper/door. When opening the door with the roof in the closed position, unlatch the latch that s on the corner nearest the door. This will take some of the pressure off of the roof seal that meets the door. Do the same when closing the door. I also lean into the door when turning the handle to latch it closed.

WayfarerHi Wayfarer, the problem you re having locking the stepper-door might be because it s off-level.  Even when you are popped-down, the access door works much easier if it is level, otherwise it will really be hard to close.  We have a Cheyenne and the stepper-door sometimes only opens half-way then seems to catch.  I just close it and open it again.  Hope this helps.

It might be just an adjustment on the wire cable that leads to that side of the trailer,I understand you adjust them by going under the trailer and look for the cable on that side, you should see a small pulley and a bracket with two holes drilled in it.The pulley s pin is in one hole and the other is empty.Simply remove pin and realign pulley to other hole. But first check on all four corners to see if the pulley s are in different holes. As for the stepper door it is the rubber seal that is makeing it difficult to open and close.Simply unlatch all four corners and raise roof about an inch or two.

WayfarerHey, thanks for the good info.  The PU is still in the garage but I unhooked the latches and raised the roof about an inch and the door worked perfectly.  We re going to a club rally (SETPUCC) next  week and always go a day early, so I ll have time to get under and check out the cables.  Can t imagine any great problems but never hurts to ask...and definitely worth watching before things get too far out of kilter.

 Thanks again, and Happy Camping!
