Worry not, your campsite should be paved. [:)]

Really?  We have only had paved campsite at 2 campgrounds we have have gone to.

What are they, just dirt? Most all of the CA state and county parks have paved campsites (where you park your trailer) and private ones have at least heavily packed gravel/pavement type stuff. Only at one campground have I ever had to park my trailer on dirt. Must be a regional thing, I guess. You guys get hookups but no pavement. We get pavement but no hookups!

Now I better understand her complaint. I don t think I would go if my entire site was mud. My mistake.

Yes some are just dirt, some wood chips, some evergreen needles and others are grass.   Most campsites in PA don t have any hookups either.  So we have dirt and no hookups.[:D]

my4cuties[:)]For me camping usually equals rain (always at least one drenching down-pour). When we used to tent camp this was pretty much of a disaster but with the popup things go pretty well. Take along plenty of games, books, etc. To me there s nothing more relaxing than sleeping in the PU with the pitter-patter of rain on the canvas. (its when the pitter-patter turns into loud pelting that I worry).
As for the possibilty of sinking, I won t worry too much. Even if the campsite isn t paved the ground is probably fairly compacted. You could take a couple lengths of 2X8 boards to put under your tires to spread the weight as mentioned above. Also, hopeful, you have practiced opening and closing the PU. As mentioned above you don t want to be stumbling around if it is raining.
Hope things go well for you. As the saying goes if all that you have is a bowl of lemons, make lemonade. (or something like that).

my4cutiesOne of the main reasons we got a pop-up was we could do it in the rain.  You have been given good advice on not sinking in the mud.  Following the same advice, last year when we encountered a rainy week-end over labor day, (remember that?) we felt like pros when we brought out our pre-cut pieces of wood while many others set the stabilizers in goo....
The main thing we like is the time to play games, make crafts and read books.  Somthing about being in the fresh air and away from the phone and the usual stuff that goes on at home.  We regard each time we go out as an adventure.  Sit back and enjoy....but the shoes off thing does help...

 Have fun!![:)]
