What I m looking for is the absolute maximum miles you have towed (this means trailer connected) in a single 24 hour period.  If you shared driving, add the drivers  miles together.

Although we have driven 1200 miles in a single day, the most we ve done with the camper attached is about 650 miles in about 10-1/2 hours.

To put a spin on that, it s 1/25 of the way around the world.  How many times have you made the trip?

We have towed close to all the way around the world (20,000 miles) and may hit the 24,000 mile number by this time in 2005.  Nearly half of that was in one trip, where we towed about 10,000 miles in 56 days.

AustinBostonWe towed the camper 260 miles to the Nick-Neff-Cough San Luis Obispo " SLO"  Escape rally 2 weeks ago.

I know it doesn t sound like much, but with a rambunctious two-year old and a DH who was adamant that he wouldn t drive to go on " long"  trips, this was quite the victory for me![:D] (especially to hang with NNC!)[;)]

Twice now in the pop up (December the last two years).  I m crossing myfingers that we can make it again.

AustinBostonWe just made the same trip to Disney as Tim.  [:D]
Annandale Virginia is close to Annapolis MD.  We found the trip to be a managable distance.

AustinBostonSo far, 240 miles, but our Disney trip is coming up.  The drive down and back will be a slower pace than Tim and Dee though.

Dee, how d you do it in one day with kids?  Definitely impressive![:D]  We ve done it once in the past with the kids and no trailer and that took close to 19 hours (from Silver Spring) with all the rest stops.  Of course, DD had only been recently potty trained for that trip.

I keep thinking that with the trailer we d need at least one overnight somewhere.

AustinBostonI would really start to worry past 600 in one day.  I ve driven that many times without towing and I know what a strain it can be.  Wouldn t want to try it pulling our PU.

It really depends on the people, the roads, and the traffic.  If both drivers sleep well in the car (passenger seat, not driver s seat) and change often, then it is possible to safely drive 24 hours straight for days on end.  Both drivers also have to be sensitive to when they have had enough, which is most people s downfall with trying this.

We have driven 1,000 miles in one day (it took 19 hours...darn holiday traffic).  I don t think I would try that with the pop-up, though.  Remember...you have to pop-up when you get there.

AustinBostonWe drove over 700 miles to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore July 2001.  Going and coming home we made each trip in one day.

AustinBostonOnly 650 miles. Ocracoke Island to near Chattanooga. But the 2.5 hour ferry ride meant we didn t really start driving till almost noon.
