I was looking at a couple campgrounds on Cape Cod (barely).

 Sippewissett Family campground: http://www.sippewissett.com/

 John s Pond: http://www.johnspondcampground.com/

Anyone been?  We re not looking for a ton of activities as we entertain ourselves.  We might want to take a ferry ride to do some biking on Martha s Vineyard or just hang on the beaches close by -- are the beaches close by to these?  We like decent sized sites with trees and shrubs to provide shade and some privacy.  Full hookups would be nice, but Electric and water would do.  Clean bathrooms are a must as we might be camping with tenters who don t have their own bathroom! [:D] We d like to have a campfire and I know some Cape Cod campgrounds do not allow fires.

I chose these campgrounds because they were not huge (under 150 sites) don t seem to nickle and dime you to death with site charges, extra charges for your own children, etc...

If you have any other campground ideas, please let me know.

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

campingboatersUmmm, I saw over at iRV2.com that they had a big meet at Sippewissett, but can t personally tell you anything about it because I ve never been there.... From what I did hear, it sounded like a nice place!

campingboatersI will not be making it to the PUT Eastern Rally next summer they are planning it on the western edge of the Eastern US and is too far, so am looking for a campground in New England that will not break the bank, near some type of water that has good fishing, preferably full hookup sites, kayak rentals, quaint area, does not have to have a lot pf planned activities, needs a grocery nearby and a Walmart or Kmart as I always forget something...

Have never been up there and want to experience the area. Bayley s is a little steep price wise, but I could go for that if nothing else looks as good. Poland Springs also looks pretty good, from what I can see on the web site.

What I need is suggestions from those experienced in the area with my needs and wishes taken into consideration. Electric and water is a must, sewer is nice, when going for a week. Game room and pool for Jeffrey (he does not like lake swimming but does like tubing down creeks and he likes kayaking on lakes), Fishing for Raymond, either salt water pier or lake/stream fishing, the catch is that there has to be fish to be had, and he soes not like catch and release.

 Thanks for any help.

 campingboatersCampingboaters,

We stay at Atlantic Oaks in Eastham, a little bit futher out on the Cape than these two campgrounds.  Full hook ups are available, the bathrooms and showers are clean and it is about 100 sites.  http://www.atlanticoaks.com

Upside: Right near the National Seashore, on the Rail Trail bike path, close to Bay beaches, minature golf and a drive in theatre nearby  and about 1/2 way between Hyannis (ferry to Martha s Vineyard) and Provincetown.  Fires allowed.  Nice store. Great, helpful staff.  Lots to do nearby.

Downside: Pet restrictions, no game room, no pool, only activity is nightly movies during the Summer.  On Rt. 6 with some road noise.  Sites are a little close with out much between them.  Some seasonals.

If dry camping, Nickerson s State Park in Brewster is fantastic.

If you have any questions, you can e-mail me.  I hope this helps out some.
