Any gotten books thru this service?  I m thinking of orders a few books thru this service, but not sure.

Any way of getting a discount on shipping?

campingboaters

angelsmom10I ve gotten used items through Amazon.  I found it cheaper than ebay and more convenient since I didn t have to wait for the end of an auction.  I just found what I wanted and bought it.  No idea about the discount on shipping since the used items are shipped from the seller, not through amazon.

angelsmom10I ve used this feature too, and really appreciate not having to pay the full price for some of the books I have ordered.   The best thing is, they are in such good shape most of the time that you wouldn t even know they are used.

angelsmom10If you buy books from one seller you can get a better price on the shipping.

angelsmom10I ordered two books recently for the first time.  They were both used.  One of them was $25 at the bookstores and I got it for $6; the other was half the price of the cover.  Both looked brand new and  I got them pretty quickly.  My husband was very surprised I got it at such a good deal and such a good condition.

I ve used Half.com in the past as well.  Only problem I had was with a Game Boy Color I order that was NOT what was described.  I ended up getting my money back, but it was an ordeal because of the seller, not because of Half.com.  I did get books through them with NO problems at all and the coupons do make it a little nicer!  [:)]

Now, everyone, go stock up on books for your camping/reading pleasure.  I have several I haven t read from last year.  MAYBE I ll get a chance this summer -- if only I can get the infant to take naps when camping!! [:D]

angelsmom10One of the things that I do to get ready for camping is to hit the garage sales and thrift stores like Goodwill.  You can get tons of books for a few dollars, and I just throw them in a bag and store them right in the camper.   That way I always have plenty to choose from.  After I m done with them, I hand them over to my DDil and when she s done she hands them to her sister, who donates them back to the Goodwill store.

And of course the value of the books increased when they were returned to Goodwill for that IRS deduction[;)][;)][;)]

angelsmom10Actually, I ve never taken the IRS deduction on any items I ve donated.  Sort of takes away from the very point of it being  donated , don t you think!?   Plus, due to the Fibromyalgia fog I have going part of the time, I ve been known more than once to buy them back again.  DDil calls and says, " hey didn t you remember reading this book already?!  So, they get redonated (is that the same as " redunnit" ?) yet again. LOL

angelsmom10Around here every Mother s Day weekend we have a Book Riot. THe women s shelter gathers books all year and for that weekend you can buy them cheap. THe funds raised are used to support the shelter. Of course I always make a generous donation to be able to stock up for the summer. I love being able to just go into the cupboard and grab a book. The ones I have finished I leave in strategic places and they are shared that way. Laundramats and bathrooms are great places to leave them. One of my favourite campgrounds has actually quit fighting this and has put a bookshelf in the office so you can swap books at no cost.

Danusmom

angelsmom10I ve used both Amazon.com (new &  used ) & Half.com web sites for purchasing books.  I have saved A LOT of $$$ on books for college classes at the local college.  If you use http://www.campusi.com to locate a book(s), this search engine will check at least 50 different sources for the book(s) & list them by the best prices...including coupons.

 Happy hunting![:D]

 Peace be with you all.

There s another search engine similar to Campusi.com which is out of Canada.  I can t remember the address nor where I wrote it down.  But, it is something like http://www.(?????).indigo.ca   I just can t remember that middle domain name.
