We ran out of heat (and gas) in the middle of the second night.  I sort of remember someone complaining about their wife liking it so hot that they always run out of gas but somehow it didn t sink in until I was freezing.  Why aren t these heaters electric?  Making them gas just doesn t make any sense!  Especiallly when electricity is a set price at the campgrounds?! I guess we ll have to pack an electric space heater or something.  My electric blanket saved us from really suffering.

If they made popup heaters electric, how would you heat your popup without electric hookups? With a propane heater, you have heat available under all conditions. In California, nearly all state parks don t have hookups of any kind. You ll be thankful for that propane furnace at those places [;)]. However, you ll probably need a second propane tank and a second battery if you ever intend to camp for more than one night without hookups. The best places to camp in Northern California, IMO, don t have hookups. I m the one whose wife cranks up the heater, so we have two tanks and two group 24 batteries. We get by, but I m always monitoring the batteries.

QuoteWell, we had a GREAT time even despite the weather and mishaps.  Having a PUT is defintely going to make living in " the city"  more bearable.  We look forward to camping with more intelligence in the future.  Thanks for listening and encouraging and making that a real possibility!

Sounds like you ve got a great perspective on camping. Some people would have sworn off popupping with some of the issues you ve dealt with. Once you get that first one under your belt, they become much easier. Glad you had a great time. We re looking forward to you camping with NNC. Your kids will have great fun with all the little NNC tikes!

In regards to setting your stabalizers, here s a little jingle to help you remember how they are supposed to work on Coleman Trailers:

Whenever the roof goes up or down... the stabalizers are off the ground!

This habit will prevent causing any damage to your roof lift system.  I hope your dealer told you about that.

Another point that will come to your awarness is that at some point you may want to replace your brake controller with a better one.  If you decide to change up your controller, the best to get would be a Tekonsha Prodigy controller.  No muss or fuss, and they set the standard for others to emulate.

Have a look at Tim5055 s web site... as it has a wealth of PU ing info and will answer most of those FAQ s of beginning campers.  Click [link=http://www.title-3.com/]HERE[/link] to go to his site.

I welcome you to the friendly PU camping world.  Pull up a chair anytime by my fire.  The beers always cold.

 Have a great day!
