Our Coachmen Clipper has white vinyl on top of the Bunk Ends.  After one year of use, it looks a little grey.  What is the best thing to clean vinyl with?  Someone told me to use bleach but, I don t think that would be good for the vinyl.  What do you all use ??

la62pvI wonder if that product Oxiclean would work?  I ve used it to get many things white around the house.  Also there is another product called Quick n Brite that we have used w/ success to brighten stuff.  Just some ideas.

la62pvPopupgizmo solar covers.  J/K! (sort of)
Although, ours really are almost as clean as when we bought the PU.

Actually, you should contact your manufacturer.

Although, they ll probably tell you to use mild soapy warm water so as not to be responsible for any damage that may occur.

la62pvOur clipper has the same problem I used the stuff you use on the whites of car tires, I think it s called whites something I forget the name..... I am sure it has some kind of bleach in it but when I spray it on and use a soft scrub brush everything comes off, just make sure you rinse it good.

la62pvI also have a Viking with the white vinyl on top and also the inside walls.   This might sound strange but a profesional cleaning lady told me to use the Scrubbing bubbles in  the can.  It will foam and then use a brush. And then rinse well.  It works well inside.  I haven t tried it on the top.  You might also want to try Westley s vinyl roof cleaner for cars.  I had a 1975 Bonnieville with a white vinyl roof.  This stuff made it look brand new.  It was the best stuff I ever used.  You can find it at most large auto parts stores and some retail places.

la62pvBefore you get too creative trying new cleaners.

You might try the PUT awning cleaner, I have a bottle but honestly haven t tried it yet. But I guess I would feel better trying that first. At least you d know the PUT people have tried it.

la62pvI did use Oxyclean on ours and it looks brand new. Which is great considering it is 10 years old. I also used in on the canvas to get the black streaks off. I use this stuff for everything, even laundry!!

la62pvWe had an upholstrey shop fix the canvas on our Starcraft last year.  It had vinyl on the top of the bunk ends.  He said to clean them with a good quality white cream hand cleaner, available at any automotive store (not the abrasive kinds).  He said not only would it clean well, it was good for keeping the vinyl soft and pliable.  Might want to try this on a small area first. If it doesn t work for you you could always keep it in the garage to ...umm..clean your hands[:D]

la62pvI would definitely not use bleach -- that s far too caustic. You should actually be very careful about what you do use. You certainly don t want to compromise either the fabric or the weatherproofing. I d probably contact Viking to see what they have to say, but in the mean time here s a web site with some RV cleaners... http://protectall.com/rvs.htm
