I posted the information on the Taos being offered via S&H greenpoints web site:
 http://www.popuptimes.com/members/tm.asp?m=30477&p=1&tmode=1

The greenpoints can be earned & donated to an individual or an organization.  If Dave were able to arrange a fund which would receive S&H greenpoints donations & the greenpoints would purchase the Coleman Taos, would you enter a raffle for that PU?  Wouldn t it be great if we could make a huge publicity bonaza for PUT, Coleman, & S&H greenpoints out of this raffle?  Especially if someone who received the Taos thru this raffle was someone who had a great longing for a PU but didn t have the funds available.

 Peace be with you all.

DanusmomHere s the direct link to S&H greenpoints: http://www.greenpoints.com

It s the same company that started the S&H Green Stamps program over 100 years ago.  This is just the Internet version which also has some brick & motar retail merchants listed.  Some grocery stores are listed.  And, Bargain Outfitters as well as Bass Pro Shops are listed, too.

Here s a little history of S&H Green Stamps from the greenpoints.com site:

The Next Generation of Loyalty Marketing

S&H greenpoints is the digital reincarnation of S&H Green Stamps, the most successful loyalty program in history. Originating in 1896, S&H Green Stamps once issued three times as many stamps as the US Post Office, and by the 1960?s, S&H was the largest purchaser of consumer products in the world. Green Stamps were everywhere. Now, S&H greenpoints gives customers all the benefits of the trusted S&H brand digitally?no more licking and sticking. In the checkout lane, online, with our service partners, and through an S&H credit card, members have a network of opportunities to earn and redeem greenpoints.

 Members benefit...
By earning greenpoints on the things they buy every day and spending greenpoints on the rewards that make them happy. Members have an almost endless number of ways to redeem greenpoints, and can do so right from the comfort of home, with the S&H catalog or through our website. They can get rewards like brand-name merchandise, gift certificates, and travel for themselves or family members and friends. Members can even use their greenpoints to save money on the grocery items they buy every week.

 Partners benefit...
From a proven loyalty currency that changes consumer behavior. This point of difference allows our partners to compete not just on price, but also on value and trust. With over 100 years of results, $10 Billion in redeemed awards, and national brand recognition of 73%, S&H delivers. And with the added value of a currency that never expires, our partners? customers will never have to worry about expiration dates or program deadlines.

I know many of you already use many of these merchants.  I know I do.  Might as well earn some greenpoints at the same time.

 Peace be with you all.

DanusmomMaybe we could collect point for birol.

Danusmom

DanusmomHaving a raffle for Birol originally gave me the idea of the raffle.  However, I don t know if that would be entirely fair to the masses.  Some others on the board may want a chance at the raffle, too.  But the have not  pled their case  effectively enough to win the majority s empathy.  Having an open raffle would seem to make the process more unbiased.

 Peace be with you all

DanusmomI have to throw some cold water on the raffle idea.

In some states, a raffle is considered gambling, and may be illegal.  Federal laws don t allow interstate gambling unless it is legal in both states.

I d hate to see Dave or anyone else get in thick muck because of this.

I may be all wet, but please proceed with caution.

Hence, the phrase " void where prohibited by law."   The disclaimer may be more specific by naming the actual states where raffles are illegal.  So, nice try at dampering.  However, where there is a will there is a way.  Especially when the outcome is for the greater good.

I have seen " void where prohibited by law"  on a lot of things, but not gambling.  It is used in conjunction with contests where no money is changing hands.  If no money is changing hands, then you shouldn t be calling it a raffle, because it s not.
