We just brought our Jayco 14SO home.  I have read many times on the forum that you can run the 3 way fridge from the TV when traveling on the road.  How do most do this with the flat 4 connector?  The Jayco has surge brakes so only a flat 4 is needed, also since it doesn t come with tire jack or wrench do most just buy a small bottle jack or scissor & multi lug wrench.  Figured I d ask and thanks in advance.

PopupSgtWith a 4 wire flat connector, I beleive you will have to run a separate charge line. Somewhere in the line from the plug that connects on the frame of the jayco to the 4 wire connector is (or should be) a charge wire, on my Jayco it s the middle wire on the opposite side of the ground. With my old TV I just ran a spearate wire to a single plug to run a charge line. The new TV has a 7 blade plug!
Re: Lug Wrench and Jack- I bought a torque wrench to properly tighten the lugs as spec d in the owner s manual, so I just carry that. My auto jack will work on the trailer so that s not a problem for me, but if it didn t fit, yes, I would buy a small hydraulic jack to use

PopupSgtYou will have to run a " hot"  line in order to run the fridge on 12 volt power.  PS it will drain a battery in a few hours, so you don t want it drawing from you car or PU battery.

PopupSgtRunning a " hot"  line is no problem, but to avoid battery drainage, make sure the hot line is connected to a " SWITCHED 12V"  source; meaning something that only comes on when the key is turned to the accessory position.  An example would be a power antenna on your car radio.

PopupSgtTo be effective in charging you need a low gauge wire though.  I know our dealer set my old F150 up straight off the battery, but told me to unplug if we were leaving the camper for few hours.  Check out Tim s page on this it will give you some thoughts and safety tips too: http://www.title-3.com/BatteryCharge.htm
