With all the advice and cross-advice I was totally confused, so I came up with this reminder:  R S   is how they are in the alphabet (QRSTU...) , so it s
 
 R comes before S  or Raise before stablizing (stableizing - yuk! i guess there s no such word.

well lets see....i got a manual AND a video and one says one way and the other says the other way....
 
 but we popup, jacks down, jacks up and popdown.

[][]We always carry our manual and Pop-up 101 that we purchased from Pop up times.  It has helped me greatly - for some reason I have problems lighting the hot water tank - so I just pop it into the tv/vcr combo and refresh my memory.
