Do you go back to the sameones all the time or are you always trying someplace new?

GaryWTI think the only place we have ever returned to was Blackwoods campground at Acadia National Park.  The Taj MaHaul has never been there, those visits were in our tenting days.

In one season, we popped up in more than 30 campgrounds in 19 states.

The pop-up has visited 25 states in all, and about 60 campgrounds.

GaryWTClose to 15 campgrounds which is not too bad considering we are new to camping and have had the PU less than a year.  We do go back to a campground close to home if we don t have the vacation time to go somewhere else.  We have the SC mountains & beaches, Blue Ridge and the Smokies quite close by and there are enough campgrounds in those areas to keep us camp happy.  We are just now feeling confident enough to go on longer jaunts (Fort Clinch and St. Joe SPs in Florida for Christmas and Big South Fork Tenn. and Mammoth Cave KY. NPs last month).

GaryWTFor short weekends we stick with the same ones. Usually choose out of 3 that we have found that we like. We usually are one of those late arrivers and the Forests we go to
are dark. Much easier to back up into the darkness you know than the darkness you don t.

Gone-Camping

GaryWTI don t really have a clue, been camping since I was a kid. I ve been to more campgrounds than I ll ever remember.... I clicked 40-50 but who knows?

GaryWTDon t know for sure, didn t keep a log every year - this is our 14th camping season,  and probably several each year (depending on the  year & #/ length of trips). Does camping in my in-law s backyard count? Probably in the more than 50 category, not sure if we ve reached the 75 - depends too if you count backpacking campsites!
We go back to the same campground if we return to an area and liked the campground. Our last camping weekend was interesting - we returned to a NF CG we d visited 8-10 years ago. We knew they had renovated it, but nothing looked familiar at first. We finally figured out (soon confirmed by a nature trail guide) that they had re-habbed (inlcu revegetating) the original single loop, part of which was now the trail, and built 2 completely new loops.

GaryWTI would guess we have camped at about 70 campgrounds but I am not sure as we camped for the first seven years we were married and then went over thirty-five
years when we only camped once.   The last eight years we have camped again and often take long trips where we stay at a campgroound for 2-4 days and then go on traveling for three to four weeks.
We do return a lot to British Columbia, Alberta,Utah, Colorado and New Mexico but see a smaller area in greater detail each time.
We take scenery and space over swimming pools and game rooms.
This years vacation will depend on the price of gas and fires in the west.  We may go to SW Utah or to Pennsylvania.
