Sad news, our dog Toto passed away. He was slowing down and wasn t eating well for the last few days and when we got home from work my DW found him laying by one of his favorite spots. He was a pretty cool mutt, we buried him in his backyard and included a time capsule that read:TOTO the Casas Family dog 1987-2003, He was an outside dog only comming inside during hurricanes, he loved to climb the ladder on the swing slide and slide down. Yup we miss him especially DW who took care of him. He would of been 16 in November

PapasoI also am very sorry for your loss.  Non pet owners do not understand how an animal can become part of the family.

[font=" arial" ]" Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together......."

PapasoAwww.... Nuts! Papaso, I know that hurts. Especially for your children, as they have never known a day without him. Our 13 year old Akita was in her favorite spot as well when we found her: lying next to the couch, guarding the front door.

Remeber, it only hurts cuz you cared, and if you cared, you gave him a good life.

PapasoSorry for your loss. We also had to put one of our dogs down in December. God couldn t have put any better creature on earth than the dog.

PapasoThanks for all your thoughts, DW misses him when she see s leftovers that he especially liked. I miss him when I get home, his body would start to wag from his waist to the tip of his tail, until I would give him a rub down and beat him up a little. He lived a good long life, never worked a day, just hungout and played,  aways had food at dinner time. Yup sure do miss him.
