I would try another campground in the area, such as Myrtle Beach State Park , Huntington Beach State Park , Oceanlakes , or Lakewood. That is just a few to choose from but Apache is not very well liked by anyone I have personally talked with . I prefer Oceanlakes if I am going to spend a good bit of $. But like Huntington State park as well.

We stayed at a Condo about 3 blocks from the campground and took a ride/walk through.

We were there at Thanksgiving, so the place was kinda empty. It has a nice (at least according to Jeffrey) game room at the entrance tyo the pier, there is also a resturaunt there. Sites are tight and they have both shaded and beach sites. But if you like pier fishing, this is the place, they boast(ed) the longest pier on the east coast. they also have weekend teen dances ina pavilion on the pier.

If we went camping in MB, because of the pier, that is where we would be going. But I do not see us pulling the camper that far, when we go is usually Thanksgiving, and the weather is iffy, even in a timeshare condo.

We love Apache CG.  We have camped there for three years.

Apache is the smallest of all CG's in the MB area.  That is one of the reasons we like it so much.  They have a kiddie pool and a swimming pool.  At the pier they have a good size game room and a nice restaurant.  They have a decent size store and a good laundry room.  They use to have a room that had a computer for use also, but we did not get to go this year so not sure if the computer is still there.  The beach front sites do not have trees, but they also have sites close to the beach that have lots of shade it is closer to the pools.

I guess what you want in a CG as whether or not you like it.  When we go we (myself and three girls 5, 4, and 10) stay in the CG most of the time.  Our time is spent either on the beach or at the pool.  So for us it is great.  During the summer season, they have DJ's or  a live band on the pier under the canopy every night.  Also they have something similar to vacation bible school, every morning for the kids, this is during the summer also.  Since we do not get to go during other times, summer time is all I know about.

Sites are tight, but they will park your camper for you all you have to do is ask.  I back my own, and only one time had hard time but I still did it on my own.  They are very good about quiet times also.  They have guards at the gate and they patrol the CG at night to keep an eye on things.  Plus setting off fireworks is prohibited in the CG, but of course allowed on the beach until midnight.  They will also stop people from setting off fireworks on the beach after midnight too.  They have always been very friendly.

Another advantage to me is location, location, location!!!  It is a block or so off HWY 17.  At the end of the road on one end is a super Wal-Mart and Tanger Outlet, on the other end is restaurants and a small shopping center.  The only times we get on the main road Hwy 17 is when we go to play putt-putt and take the girls to the rides.  Otherwise, we stay on the road the CG is on.

I know this is long, but thought it might help.
