Our Tow van is in the shop for the second time to fix the first problem!!!  ARG.  And to make things worse, a old lady backed in to the side door with it sitting in the parking lot of the repair shop.  Not a big dent, door works, but it means that I wil have to get that taken care of after we get back.

We are leaving for our BIG camping trip this Saturday.  It will be for 10 days and 5 states.

I still have to un-freeze the old rusted hitch so I can install the new Reese mini-350.  Get the van back to get it cleaned up and ready to go.  Get the camper ready, kids packed, stuff loaded.

I DON T THINK I AM GOING TO MAKE IT !!!!!

Dayton DaveYou have my sympathys...I still have to take off the gas bottles and get them filled, buy some food, pack the clothes. We got the oil changed Saturday and all I have to do is gas up before I hitch up, load everything and hook up. Then in the wee hours of Saturday AM, will take off to parts unknown to me (Hillsville)

DaytonDave, good luck getting it all together.

Dayton DaveA couple of months ago, I asked some friends who have a camper (TT not PU) if they wanted to go camping the weekend of 6/13.  I was going to go tent camping.  Well, at some point, I got this impulse to purchase a PU.  I looked at several of them and decided on one on Monday (6/9).  On Tuesday at 1:00, the guy called and said that the inspection was done.  I ran, got the truck wired for the wiring harness and electric brakes.  Then went to get cashiers check.  Seller and I went to Tag and Title shop.  I paid him.  He signed over title, I got a nice new metal tag, and I towed it home.  On Wed and Thu, I had no time to do anything with this thing.  On Friday, I ran around like a madman in the morning to buy a bunch of stuff for our trip that weekend.  Called the campground so that they knew I was now PU camping and not tent camping.  Hooked up the PU.  Picked up daughter from school.  Headed out.  Got to campground and opened up the PU for the first time ever.  Have never had a PU before, so this was all new to me... I did RTFM, so I wasn t completely dumbfounded.  But coleman manuals assume that you have some knowledge of terms that were foreign to me.

There was a little stress involved, but everything worked out... as it will for you.

 Good luck and have fun.

Dayton DaveJust an opinion...But 5 states in ten days does not sound like a camping trip!!!

Sounds to me like you ll be on the road more than sitting  round the fire...

 Camping...A state of mind...
