Camping Coxes

Acts 2:38 girlI have used my PU as an extra room for my BIL (he spent the night in it before we did), and that s different than lending it out.  I have no problem setting it up for someone, but to have them tow it, back it in, set it up, etc., is pushing the limits of friendship.  If I tear my canvas, that s my bad.  If you tear my canvas, that s your butt! [:@]

My husband and I are also " one,"  and I wasn t implying I rule the roost or make the rules.  I know it s not popular to say, but I believe that my husband is the head of my household and I am submissive to his authority.  He was just implying I m a little obsessed with " popping-up" !  [8D]  I have to admit, again he s right.  I hate when that happens!

Camping Coxesoh heck yeah...my car sits out in the drive way cuz my baby stays inside where its nice and dry and warm.

i don t find this a bit obsessive at all.

Camping CoxesNCSunshine...even tho i have a bit over 3 years left to pay on it and i put it in my DH s name too, its mine and i am paying for it....its my dream popup...

Camping CoxesNOBODY, but NOBODY borrows my camper.  I was that way with my pop-up and I m that way with our Hybrid.  I ve told my husband under NO circumstances is he to get all nice with someone and lend out MY camper!  After all, I am the one that has made it a home with organizing everything inside and out.  I ALMOST had a heart attack last week when he lent out our pop-up gizmos bunk end covers to a family (that doesn t take care of their own stuff all too well) for them to use for a WEEK!  I m not counting on seeing them in one peice EVER again, but at least they are cheap to replace and I know where to get them and I ll know where to send the bill!  [:D]

I mean, just because I E-mail daily with a woman I ve never met IRL but know from PUT, and just because PUT is the first site I check out when I go online

Trina, I haven t a clue what you are talking about....the funny thing is...I also email almost daily with a woman I ve never met IRL but know from PUT. Does that make me obsessed also......Gee,the things some of us popuppers have in common!!! Go figure...  --PI

And with that, let me introduce Jeanne, my friend from PUT who I E-mail daily!  I have a cybershoulder to unload on about raising my kids (and trying not to kill them!) and to laugh with about their antics and accomplishments!  Thanks Jeanne [:)]!

 Trina,
Same here. We ve had some pretty good laughs online. It is nice to have someone to vent to . It s fun.  Thank you too. [:)]

Starcraft Dad

Camping CoxesFunny this thread is here.  This past weekend a neighbor asked if he could borrow ours.  I hardly know the man except for when the police come to thier house.  (son was an unwilling accesory to murder and was on a tether).  He has never towed, backed up or set up a PU or anything else for that matter.   Wanted to use it for a 2 week trip to Montana. There are seven of them going, 3 adults and four kids,   Plus he wanted to put a ball on his truck bumper to tow.  All I could do was laugh and walk away.

If I had my DW would have made the PU my pemanent home. [:o]

Camping CoxesLots of us have met some of our very best friends thru this message board, both online and in real life.   That s why we re so proud of it, protective of it and crazy about it.

Starcraft DadHmmm...is Trina obsessive?...Well, I don t think you re obsessive at all, Trina, and I HAVE met you IRL!  [:D]  But then again, I have been accused of being anal retentive about my PU--Is that better or worse than obsessive?[;)]

Right after we bought our PU, one of our friends wanted to borrow it and we had no problem telling him NO!  Needless to say, he was thought we were being riudiculous, even though we tried to explain that they are simple little campers, but if you don t know what you re doing, there are a lot of things that you can do wrong and harm the camper.  He s still sour about it, but our camper is still in perfect condition! [:D]

madrone

KellyOoh.  Where did you get the Matchbox pop-up?  I want one for my 4-year old.

And of course Mom controls the pop-up.  I like camping; my husband doesn t. He ll only go camping if I do the lioness  share of the work.  The only reason we have a pop-up is because tent camping with a family of 6 is a little too intense even for me.

I still can t quite shake the idea that I should be carrying my RV on my back like I used to back in pre-kid days.

Starcraft DadThis is soo funny! I found out just last week that someone at dh s work had asked to borrow our PU and dh said no way am I asking Sharon that.. she wouldn t let it out of her sight. LOL man I am glad I am not alone.  That guy makes as much $$ as my dh and his wife works too either go buy your own or rent!!
Everyone in my house knows its my pu and that they are lucky I let them camp with me. Dh has actually had to answer to people as I do the set up or tear down alone  that no he isn t lazy,  I just prefer to do things MY way!! so I know they are done right. [:)]

QuoteOoh. Where did you get the Matchbox pop-up

I got mine at Toys R Us.  It s in a multipack of cars/boats or motorcycles that have the same color scheme.  There are five (?) vehicles in the box.

 Trina and Lori,

I ve met both of you IRL and didn t find either of you to be compulsive or obsessive at all.  That might have something to do with camping and living with G-Whiz.

I say, " Better to lose a friend because you didn t lend them a PU then to lose a friend because you did."   Not all people believe in the philosophy that if you borrow something, you return it in a better condition then when you borrowed it...ie...borrow a car, return it clean and with a full tank of gas regardless of how dirty or empty it was when you borrowed it.  BTW...you can recognize these people...they hardly know you and would ask to borrow your PU.
