We got back on June 22 from 2 weeks at Fort Wilderness.  Well, when we got home and went to crank up the ole popup...the cable broke.

Took it into the shop (after a week had gone by) and put a brand new cable on it.  Well, then they ran into other problems. (new winch, etc)  To make a long story short...I just got the camper back TODAY.  (July 7th)

It rained and rained on us at Disney and the camper was really wet when we put it down.  Because of the cable being broke...I haven t been able to get into the camper to clean/air it out.  Now, on the back bunk, underneath the screen on the canvas. I have mildew.  How do I get it out?  It s gross.

Plus, when they fixed the cable/winch...they got grease on the inside of my canvas.  How do I get that out?
HELP!  I can stand this.  I take extreme good care of my popup and this is just not gonna cut it.  [/size=3]

SltrawickLook in your owners manual and see what they recommend for mildew. I ve used (at various times, not together!)  a mixture of water and bleach, Starbrite Mildew Stain Remover or Woolite. Got the best results with the Woolite!

As far as grease stains, had one from my canvas touching the trailer hitch when I was trying to wipe it down before folding up wet, but had that one cleaned by the dealer so don t know what they used! Try asking your dealer or checking with the MFR through their website. Jayco has been great, although sometimes a little slow, about answering any questions i come up with.

SltrawickHere is the best thing I have found for mildew on the canvas or any other part.  Scrub-Free Mildew Stain Remover or its first cousing, Scrubbing Bubbles Mildew Stain Remover.  If the mildew is on the outside surface of canvas, apply the stain remover, let it sit for several minutes, zip up the canvas and use a garden hose to rinse the canvas from the outside.  When it is thorough dry, retreat the canvas with water repellent.  You can buy both the water repellent treatment and the mildew stain remover at Wal Mart.

SltrawickYou used this on the actual canvas itself?  I would think that would work on the vinyl part.  I m just really leary of doing anything to the canvas itself.

SltrawickWhat made me leary was seeing what the overspray did to the bed slides!! Then I read the fine print- Do Not Use on Fabrics, etc! Isn t canvas a type of fabric? I switched to cleaning it really good with Woolite and then drying it out really good, even to the point of using a dehumidifier if the weather was uncooperative!

SltrawickI haven t had any problem with overspray on the bed slides.  Most of the time the mildew is on the outside of the canvas, not the inside.  Have used this successfully on the canvas without a problem.  Did you have to scrub the canvas with the Woolite?  Did it get all the stain out? How did you apply it?  I like the Scrubbing Bubbles MSR because it is a bubbly spray and doesn t drip.

SltrawickI didn t try the Scrubbing Bubbles MSR, The one I had the most problems with was the Starbrite MSR which is sold in many RV stores around here. The overspray corroded the bed slides, even after beening rinsed off as best I could without flooding the camper. My problem with mildew seemed to be on the inside more than the outside. I was a heavy snorer (before being diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and going on a CPAP!) and we didn t have a roof vent (do now), and I think we had excess moisture inside. Not sure if it s the Roof Vent, not snoring, or what, but no troubles this year!
I used Woolite full strength with a medium stiff brush. It worked as well as anything else and didn t have any of the problems associated with bleach or chlorine-based treatments.

SltrawickI called Jayco this afternoon cause I have mildew inside my PU also.  They suggested a product made by Iosso.  Its a stain and mildew remover.  You can find it at www.iosso.com
