Having been a fan of this site for a long time
I felt it was time to let you know how wonderful it is.
Having told us of discounts, given us good advice, and
telling us about wonderful products. We are now proud owners of the
tiny titan hot water heater, the extreme cooler and have the Paha Que
screen room on order. Now here is the question, is there any thing
else that we must have ?
Oh,I forgot to mention ,we are the proud owners of a new to us
 1984 Coleman Columbia.Our family consits of DW, DH,DD (age15),DS ( age12),
Brandy (our lab of 15 years) and Cocoa( the house cat ).
We live in Myrtle Beach,S.C. (But do not get to go to the beach or camp as often as we would like).

 Kathy Tuckhi kathy,
welcome to the site, you will get more response to your question if you post it on the general site or campfire site! this is mainly hybrids here, but to answer your question what else you need which is a dangerous question to ask, because you can always need something, i recommend a cermic heater, to take the chill out on your spring and fall evenings, walmart has them a very good prices, a little box heater works very well,  and if your dry camping (camping without electric) buy what is call the MR HEATER portable buddy heater it s safe for indoors, uses propane cylinders .

Kathy TuckWelcome!!!  Which is your favorite CG in Myrtle Beach?  Mine is Apache, it is small and does not have everything that the bigger ones have but I love it.

There are so many things that you can get for the camper, but it comes down to what your interests are.  I have recently bought two Sterilite four-drawer units to use for food and other things in the kitchen area.  With a family of five they worked out great.

Other things I have bought are, a specific color set of towels so I could clean them and KNOW they go back in the camper, microwave, 9"  tv/vcr combo for the rainy days and before bedtime, a set of pots, pillows, and toaster oven.

The things I have gotten from various places but not necessarily bought are:  small 4-cup coffee maker, 2-slice toaster, hand mixer, hair dryer, blankets, plastic rubbermaid bowls, cooking utensils, heater, and other stuff that I can t remember.

One important thing I believe, is to make up a tool box of tools to be left in the camper.  If not, you may end up with 3 or 4 of something at home because you needed it and had to buy it.

One other thing is the use of umbrella stands for awning poles, or buying extra middle awning poles to attach them to the frame of your camper (a very good modification that I hope to make).

Tim5055 has a great website that probably has a great list, if you see his name click on it and it will show you his profile with his website or in his postings click on Natasha s site in his signature.   If you want to move your post to the General or Campfire sections, just click on the " Contact Admin"  at the top and ask them to move it.

Hope this gives you some information you wanted.  Welcome Aboard.

NCSunshineThank you for all your advice.
We already have some but will add others to the list.
To answer your question about campgrounds,we live on the south strand
so we usually camp at Myrtle Beach State Park, that way if we need anything
we are just minutes from home. The staff there is very knowledgable about the
coastal region and we always learn something new.The cg is located in a wooded section of the park, thus offering larger and more private sites.

Are you planning a trip to Myrtle Beach?
What do you like to do when visiting the Sun Fun City?

NCSunshine

Kathy TuckWe did not get to visit MB this year.  When we do, we usually just stay in the CG, alternating between the beach and pool.  Kids are 9,4,3 so they are easy to please.

We always stay at least 8 or 9 nights.  We pick one night to play putt putt, one night to go to the rides, and one day for visiting an attraction.  The last two places we visited are Ripley s Aquarium and Butterfly Pavillion (which I understand has closed down).  The rest of the time is spent in CG, just doing what ever we like.

I guess you get bored with all the attractions there, what is you favorite place to go?or thing to do?

I have been going to MB since I was six weeks old and it is like a second home to me.  I actually feel home sick because we were not able to go this year.  We do have a long weekend in October that we may be able to visit, but will just have to wait and see.

Do you ever camp in NC?  My favorite place is Dan Nicholas Park & CG.  There is no swimming pool but the best park and things to do for kids here is the site for it http://www.co.rowan.nc.us/parks/dnp/default.htm

Another place I camp at is Carowinds, so we can go for the weekend.  The CG is pretty good, and a great place for the kids afternoon nap so we can stay till closing.

Kathy TuckWelcome to the board.  I have the Paha Que screen room and love it.  The only other thing you must have is FUN camping.

Kathy Tuck

NCSunshineOne of our  favorite things to do
is go to the beach for a picnic .
We usually go to one of the state
parks (there are two within a short
drive of our house). We usually stay for
the day having lunch then going to the beach.
The shows are nice but the beach is our # 1 choice.
We have not camped in North Carolina but have talked about it .
We were thinking  about Carowinds  ,thank you for the info .
Having been born in Asheville we still have friends and family in that area
we stay with(no need to pull the camper over the mountain). When I was growing up we did our share of camping in the Tarhill state and going camping at Lake Arrowhead(It was near Apache) at Myrtle Beach.
Eventually, My family relocated to the area in 1973.

We are planning a weekend trip before school starts ,not sure where to yet.
Can t wait to try out the screenroom!

Kathy TuckHi fellow South Carolinian.  Be sure and get your PUT sticker so you can be identified by other members in your travels.  As for camping needs - we do a lot of camping in the mountains of SC and NC.  We go to the beaches in the winter months.  To keep warm, we have a sleeping bag (rated for 20 degrees) that zips completely open that fits on top of our mattress.  We use a down/feather comforter and blanket also.  If it is really going to be cold (below 50) we travel with an electric heater and stay at a campground with hookups when possible although it is warm enough when sleeping, it is hard to get the interior warm enough to sit in without wearing a coat but that is why God made campfires.
Enjoy your camper, we certainly have and hope to continue doing so for many years to come.  It is amazing how many outings we can afford now!

Kathy TuckPart of the fun of the whole show is getting yourselves all outfitted with the things you can t possibly function without such as tacky lights. I believe we have visited every dollar store, every Wal-Mart near every place we ve camped, just to make sure there s nothing different from all the other ones we ve visited. Welcome and most important of all HAVE FUN.[;)]
 Happy Camping
