Camping Coxes

This weekend we lit the propane to cool the fridge the day before we left for our trip.  The propane stayed lit.  When we got there, the fridge was not cold.  Fortunately we were camping with hook-ups, so we plugged it in and it got cold.  What would cause the fridge not to get cold with propane?

We re leaving on vacation in a few days and will not have electricity (Murphy s Law), so we re kind of in a bind for time.  Any help would be appreciated.

 Thanks in advance!

Camping CoxesYou didn t give the brand but if it happens to be a Dometic, try here for owners and service manual for your unit.

mike4947Actually, we called the dealer who advised us to blow out any dust or debris that may have accumulated.  DH did that this afternoon, and by this evening, we have a cold fridge.  Lesson learned, and hopefully will help anyone else who has or had this problem.

Camping CoxesI have a small battery powered fan that I stick in the fridge compartment that blows air out the top compartment.  It really helps the fan cool better.

Birol I have a small battery operated desk fan that runs on D size batteries that I put in the frig. compartment.  I don t know much about electrical stuff, so I haven t put a wired fan in the back of the fridge.

Camping CoxesI don t know what brand refer you have, but mine has two thermostats. One for the propane and one for ops on batt/shore power.
