When we ve tent-camped, we always tied our clothesline to some friendly trees and hung our towels and whatnot on the line.

Well, we visited our first RV park last weekend, and I knew right away that clotheslines on the trees were not going to fly there.  The other campers all seemed to have washers and dryers in their diesel pushers and fifth wheels. I ended up hanging clothes outside on the bed supports (the wind blew them into the mud), from the clothes bar (one towel) and from the helper poles on the dinette and bay window.

I ve been trying to figure out where to string a clothesline on the Bayside. I thought of zigzagging clotheslines under the two king bunks.  Anyone tried that?
Or should I get over this drilling-holes-in-the-toothbrush stuff and get a folding clothes rack?

 madroneHello madrone,
I too used to fuss around with a clothesline, (or had to do without in some campgrounds).  What we use now are the vinyl-coated metal folding dryers.  They work great, and usually we set them up under one of the bunk ends, so that they ll be out of the way, and still outside to catch the breeze![;)] You can even use clothespins on them for those extra breezy days[:o]
They re very compact, and will easily fit into the popup when it s packed and ready for travel.
 Happy campin!

madroneI have a small wooden drying rack that I take when I know we can t hang a clothes line.

madroneWe did the clothes line to whatever handy trees were around.  During our first season with a PU we saw someone else using a clothes drying rack, and thought it was a good idea.  Our first one ($8) was wood and not very sturdy.  It lasted almost one season.  We upgraded to a vinyl coated wire one, which is much larger, will withstand the weight of bath towels, and take more abuse ($28ñ).  I would recommend the vinyl wire ones.

madroneWe use the folding clothes rack and will put it either under a bunk end or inside the screen room (a screen room separate from the one on our Coleman).  We also string up a bungee cord across the poles that hold up the awning (the ones that fit against the side of the PU, not the ones staked to the ground).  The bungee will hold towels in a pinch but we usually hang rain gear there so it will dry but still be handy to grab for those times you need it (middle of the night toilet runs).

 That s what I did.

madroneWe use a wooden accordion type rack.  It just fits under the bunk end of our Bayside & I often use a long velcro strap to keep it upright.  When we camp without the dogs I often bring it inside at night.  We went to this after camping in an Army Corps campground - they don t let you string rope between trees.  We still use a rope between trees if it s convenient & allowed.
