RE: Shutters.

With the ac not acting right I have been trying to keep myself busy doing something during the heat of the day. I worked on my shutters for the cabin yesterday. I am making 1x3 ft shutters for each window at the cabin.
 
 I had a piece of lattice here at the house I wasn t using and my neighbor cut it for me. I got furring (sic) strips for the frames becuase they were cheap. DD and I worked on painting them this afternoon. Still have to finish them up and of course my meausurements where off on the lattice. But I did use a miter box to cut my frames and they turned out great!
 
 We are painting them white. Which will look great with the Evergreen paint of the cabin. I am going to paint the railings of the porch white and maybe also the trim of the cabin (if I can reach it from the ground [])

Sounds like you have a great project going there. I know it will look great when you get thru.
    I own a little two room log cabin in the mountains of Colorado. My Dad built it in the 60 s and my brother and I own it now. I just love it. I know how you feel  cause I m the same way about mine. Just wish I could spend more time there.
     My little PU is my substitute " cabin"  when I can t go up there. So I guess you d say I have 2 homes away from home. LOL
