We went camping in Maine and I now have Pine tree sap on the roof of the camper.  It s been on it for about 4 days now (including one very hot day)and " normal"  car wash soap is not taking it off.  Any suggestions on what to use to clean the roof?  I had used the solar reflector cover on the bunk ends.  Any suggestions on how to get the tree sap off of those too?  Thanks!

BaysideBruceI have been camping up in Maine for the past 4 years and as an aside I m leaving Sunday for a two week camping trip. Two years ago it was really hot and the pu got plastered with pine sap. What a mess. I checked with the dealer and he said gasoline. Well there was no way I was gonna use that. But I figured anything I found over the counter would be better. Well after several different cleaners I found Pine Sol works great. Just put some on a rag and wipe on. It will loosen the tar so you can remove it. After the pine sol I follow it with simple green and then follow that with water. Although the Pine Sol gets the pine tar off it dosen t do that great with the dirt. Thats where the simple green comes in. Then follow with water cause I don t think any of those cleaners are good to leave on. I ve done this numerous times with great results. Does bunkends and roof equally well. Good Luck

BaysideBruceCampChief - We stayed at Poland Spring Campground in Poland Spring and at Smuggler s Den just outside of Southwest Harbor.  We had a great time at both places.  Thanks for asking.

BaysideBruceCrisco shortening removes pine sap. Not sure how well it works once it has set in and dried. But on fresh sap it works great.
