When opening the tent second time this year, I saw some blackish thing in the front of the tent. it would not come out with water and paper towel. Is that mold/mildew ? How an I get that stuff out ? Also, how can I wash the tent ? I was told not to use soap, so I use just water and soap and hope that it gets clean ? It is soo dirty with tree sap and other stuff now.

 Any help  is appreciated.

birolBirol, if you clean it with a mild soap solution I believe you have to retreat with a water repellant. You can get that at any sporting goods store.
The stains sometimes don t go away.

birolYes that is mold and mildew.  [:@]

Just get rid of the MOAT and get your PU. [:D]

What is your tent made of?  Nylon?

Even if the stain remains, the MOAT is still usable.

It is if you re exposed to it continiously for years, it can and will cause respritory problems. A weekend in a tent that s been cleaned of the spores and all that s left is the stain isn t anything.
